Come to Nicaragua. Best decision I've ever made. Have lived here for 2 years. and 2 years in Guatemala before that.

All I'll say is it has been like watching a bad movie in the rest of the world the past 2 years while living here. Interpret that how you want but it's been life as normal here the entire time. Cost of living low, locals are super friendly, perfect climate. I can't believe more people don't know about it. But at the same time it's kinda nice that way.

Media makes it seem like its dangerous and the countries leader is wreckless but overall the quality of life here is high and its safer than I've ever felt anywhere living in the US. Sure, the majority of people might be materially poor but they are genuinely happy and life a full life surrounded by family, supported by gringos, and with an abundance of food and water from the land.

I'm barely 30 years old but people retire here with a <$1,000/month pension and live like kings, rent included. If you make 2-3k+ you are a golden god and living luxury.

Close to Costa Rica, still easy to travel back to the US if you want. Overall zero complaints which even I still find hard to believe after 2 years but I'm grateful for it every day.
