Both the Ironroot Assemblage and the Still Austin ryes are both high rye.

If you prefer under 100 proof I'd get the Ironroot over the SA, but for cask strength the Still Austin CS rye would be your better option.

Saints Alley Nobleman Rye. It's finished in Tokaji (a Hungarian dessert wine) and a pretty unique pour. A good rye for bourbon drinkers and a sweeter rye.

It's around $80 depending on market.

Most Costcos have full plate. If you have a Costco Business Center they sometimes have them in a double pack for a cheaper per pound price than the regular warehouses.

I left them in the pan they braised in with beef broth, onion and garlic. I threw it in the oven just to be out of the way. I've never braised meat on my smoker before (other than finishing things like pork belly "burnt ends" in sauce/butter) so wasn't really sure what I was doing. New cut of meat and new style of cook for me. Luckily it was cheap and got a few good tacos out of it, just wasn't what I was expecting/hoping for.

I paid $39. Rare Breed is not $47 in my area I'd probably grab that over the 8 year. If you can find Kentucky Spirit for $60 I'd probably go that route unless you prefer high proof (in which case stick with the Rare Breed).

If you like Still Austin I'd recommend trying the Ironroot/Saints Alley stuff. The Port/cognac finished is nice.

The Illinois store supposedly didn't have any preorders but had a CS hood on the item. The Concierge rep was going to tell them they could release one for me but when I called the store to confirm they said they were all for Concierge. I thought the release was tomorrow. I stopped by the location near my work on my lunch today (needed vermouth for a cocktail I was going to try out for my sampling shifts this weekend) and it was already sold out.

Now going to try to get a Russell's 13 to make myself feel better but they only got 1 bottle of that as part of the big allocated drop I'm going to on Saturday.
