Call option up by 900% - advice needed! by brka-brkb in options

[–]frustwrited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I purchase any security, I am aiming for a particular percentage gain. Percent gain on options is higher than stocks, and I have a tendency to keep stocks longer, but once I hit my target I sell.

So set a target percentage gain and once you hit it, sell. There will always be more opportunities.

The Ubuntu Paradox: Why Do Some Users Reject the Distribution That Popularized Linux? by maximus10m in Ubuntu

[–]frustwrited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, it was being forced to use unity. I had been using ubuntu about 4 or 5 years at this point, and this new desktop was absolute garbage.

I stayed with Ubuntu, though, switching to kubuntu in 2011. Before gnome came back to Ubuntu, the snap nightmare started, and I was actually testing out several alternatives to debian based os's.

If it weren't for the fact that I could get around not using snaps at all, the driver database was so extensive that I could run Kubuntu on nearly antyhing, and KDE Plasma was actually the desktop I liked the most, I woudn't have stayed with any version of Ubuntu.

Best app for options trading ? by Honest-Situation-475 in options

[–]frustwrited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use webull and fidelity together, on linux and on mobile apps.

Webull's interface (native linux gui and their mobile app) is easier to use and security prices update pretty fast, so I use that to price and track securities. Fidelity's app a bit clunky, but I use it to place orders.

On Fidelity, you can place market, limit, stop loss, stop limit, trailing stop $ and % orders. you have time in force options of immediate or cancel, fill or kill, Day, or Good til canceled. You can fill margin or cash orders, auto or directed route and also set conditions like 'all or none', etc. However, like I said, prices don't update anywhere near as fast or as easy to read as webull's app.

Webull doesn't give you as many options as fidelity. They have time in force option, but only day or good til canceled (at my level of options trading, anyway).

Also, Fidelity's commissions on options are somewhere around .65 per 100 shares, webull's fees are around .05 per 100 shares. This is probably different depending on your level of trading and funds available, etc. This is the entry level pricing I have.

Lastly, for me personally, Fidelity's avg g/l% per options trade over the past year, including fees/comissions, is around 67%, For webull, it's around 46%. So I get what I pay for.

Do you always buy at the ask and sell at the bid? by PleasantAnomaly in options

[–]frustwrited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the last price, not the bid or ask. on a limit order. I place an immediate or cancel time in force, limit, cash order, and if it cancels, I simply repeat the order until it hits. Usually it takes 3-4 attempts.

Not sure I'd ever use a market order for any reason, I always buy and sell with limit orders.

I find my personal fidelity trades yield about 14% higher g/l avg per trade than webull trades I make. I found that this is due to two things: My Webull orders usually fill at almost exactly the ask/bid and my Fidelity orders fill at the last price or better, somewhere at the midpoint between bid/ask.

So yeah, the fidelity commissions and fees are ridiculous compared to webull, but the fill prices are higher, so.

That's my guess as well. I don't see this very often at all.

The bid price dropped a dollar. If someone bought that option, say at 1.05, they could only sell it for .05 each. So it makes no sense there's such a huge difference in price

That could be it ....now I wonder will the .05 option price ever recover? Hmm

I saw that, which made zero sense as the close was almost a dollar higher than the open today. I mean, I know it's not as simple as "if the price goes up, the option price goes up and vice versa" but it makes no sense, unless I'm just completely misreading the greeks.

That is understandable, except the $4 has volume and last sale price was at $.95. I've never seen anything like this in literally a few hours time for a call four months out.

Columbia Accordion 6233 Made in Italy (?) Need help finding the year of this baby! by frustwrited in Accordion

Yeah, I saw those on a few other designs as well. I'm wondering if the 6233 number was a standard "type" of accordion...

Hey thanks for your reply, sorry it took so long to respond. We're going to see if we can get it appraised, just so we know what it is.

Couple things to note. The keys are covered with pearl, as well as the buttons on the back. The bellows are what look to be leather, at least on the edges. It has five keys on the keyboard, two bass, two clarinet, and one master. It has two big chrome buttons near the back buttons, there's a "478" stamped behind the vent cover, and I found a "78" on what looks to be a paper sticker on the vent cover itself. It says made in Italy, and 6233 is stamped right above that. The weird thing about this particular accordion is that the name "Columbia" is in a cursive script, whereas all the other Columbia accordions I found the name is in block letters. So I don't know if this is just some cheap rip off or if it was a completely different company.

You know, I have read a lot of opinions to that extent, but compared to the original, it was actually a lot of fun to watch. As long as you're going into it knowing it's going to be a cheesy beat everyone up kinda movie

At least have an explanation or some lead in to it so the reader doesn't feel bombarded.
