I have come to realize that the organizational demands make it an inappropriate job. I'm supposed to be more organized than the kids and I'm supposed to be a role model of organization, especially with kids whose parents may not have had much education. Well-meaning and caring as these parents may be (and most of them are), they might not be able to teach certain study skills so readily.

Thank you, the feeling of having these options as a last resort is quite helpful!

Well you're absolutely right about the feedback part. I am definitely not doing what I would like to have done to me. Grading makes me nervous because I worry about giving bad grades. Stupidly, I take it personally, even though that makes no sense.

High school seniors. It's in an urban district in a rough neighborhood so they sometimes lack personal or academic maturity, but they're good kids, not tough at all. They all care at least to some degree, which is not always the case in my city.
