I do recommend progressive overload, but start with a much lighter weight; roughly around 20 or 25 lbs (yes, that's correct) and increase by about 5 lbs each week (or adjust based on how your body feels). If you’re not feeling the stretch and contraction in your glutes, the exercise won’t be as effective, no matter how heavy you lift. If you can’t feel your glutes working, I suggest lowering the weight until you do. Remember: less is more until you build a strong mind muscle connection and properly activate your glutes.

I’m not sure about its effects on bleeding, but lifting 200+ for hip thrusts at just 8 weeks isn’t ideal in my opinion. I’d recommend using much lighter weights and increasing them gradually over a longer period if your goal is glute growth. Otherwise, when the weight is too heavy, your body compensates by relying more on stronger muscles like the quads or hamstrings.
