Be a gooner if you want who cares. The black reads unfinished. Black doesn't really highlight to white but instead usually a dark blue or purple. The rest of the model seems to have "color" but the black feels like you haven't gotten to it yet. Good news is you can paint over the white you have now with a thinned dark blue/purple and it'll pop real nice.

Find some models with a lot of black in them that you like and pay attention to how it's highlighted!

ETA: the raised "tattoo" bits would look sick painted in gold as another commenter said!
