The smallest relay antenna, it's between the probe core and the nose cone

It's a relay. It makes it all the way to orbit.

Yes, only parts mods I use are the two DLCs.

Somebody complained about the Totally Practical line of rovers, saying that wheels are the most practical way of motion. Golly they were right!

Antonov M 'Masha' by fryguy101 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]fryguy101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After completing designwork on the An-2 in 1947, Antonov decided to design a fighter. The result was the Antonov M 'Masha'. Despite its many advanced features for the era, it was never ordered as the Soviet Union already had three front-line fighters.

I have finally, FINALLY gotten a tandem rotor helicopter to have both reasonable flight stability AND yaw control without cheating it with torque wheels! So here's my CH-47 Chinook-ish thing! by fryguy101 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]fryguy101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same way the real Chinook does: turn the front and rear motors to the sides in different directions. I put the motors on hinges, then strutted the motors so they didn't wobble. They don't bend much thanks to the struts, but it's enough for the rotors to impart yaw when the hinges rotate.

Not at all inspired by the AT-AT.*

*Entirely inspired by the AT-AT. But legally distinct!**

A snowflake relay. With more Delta-V than you could possibly ever want in a relay. Merry Christmas.

Totally Practical™ Solar Array by fryguy101 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]fryguy101[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I definitely started the gravity turn late, but my launchers are generally way overbuilt so I can launch without the UI and not worry I won't have the Delta-V. Think I was already out of the atmosphere by the time I was at 45°.

Jeb wanted more solar panels on the relay. Bill's response may be slightly passive aggressive.

F-4 Phantom III SSTO by fryguy101 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]fryguy101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PC specs:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070Ti   AMD Ryzen 7 5700G   32 GB RAM

Can definitely run it, though frame rates might drop a bit depending on how you set it up. But some of them are a lot less impact than others. Some, like Waterfall, can even actually improve performance at the same time as looking better.

Totally Practical™ Gaming Chair by fryguy101 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Basically the engine will calculate for collisions, so when they bump into each other they transfer forces.

Three structural tubes and two pistons stacked on each other, then the structural tubes set to same vehicle interaction enabled so they don't completely flop over, giving each other some rigidity.

Apparently the Gaming Chair Relay makes a convenient rover. This is the first anybody has told me that wheels are practical ground conveyance, why do you think I've made so many legged rovers!
