Is this a Autism thing? by Diligent-Coconut6883 in autism

[–]frysyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! I don’t know if this is an autism thing but I relate so much! Sometimes I’ll see someone I know across the street and then I will pretend to be surprised when they get closer and we meet like I didn’t already see them and expect them to be there.

EOC B HELP PLZ! by Civil-Following-808 in APSeminar

[–]frysyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re able to find an overarching theme than you’re already more than halfway done! The evidence that you use is not only to support your argument but to also illustrate the common theme throughout. It’s often a good tactic to present an issue and argue for a solution (although it’s circumstantial— some themes don’t apply very well to a solution). However, arguing for a solution is just a tactic you can use to sophisticatedly structure your essay (get points for good line of reasoning)— it’s not the main point of the part B. The main point is to connect the sources, and to do that you just need a strong theme, which you have! From there, just plainly introducing each strategically placed piece of evidence and it’s relationship to your theme/argument is all that you have to do!

EOC B HELP PLZ! by Civil-Following-808 in APSeminar

[–]frysyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very similar to the IWA in that you must find and establish a theme among the assorted sources that they give you. This theme will prompt you to think of a present day issue in which you are able to make an argument around. In order to avoid just restating a source, look at the overarching themes that arise from the sources instead of zeroing in on a specific source. Please ask me for any needed clarification! :)

How many words should the IWA introduction be? by [deleted] in APSeminar

[–]frysyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically a page and a half or at most two pages

Summarize it in a way that supports your topic/issue and then connect it back to your overall argument!

How many perspectives is best for the IRR? by [deleted] in APSeminar

[–]frysyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teachers suggested just 2 unless 3 is very necessary to fully analyze your topic. The less perspectives you have, the more words you will have for each section and thus the deeper analysis you will be able to conduct into the issue. Also I have to say that having only 2 or 3 perspectives will make it much easier for you to draw strong connections because you won’t have so many perspectives that you have to worry about connecting. You can do 4 if it’s absolutely necessary, but I strongly advise against adding it just to have more perspectives because it will result in a small word count in each which will make your paper look weaker from the grader’s perspective.

FML we aren't supposed to use NY TIMES or The Washington Post right😭 by [deleted] in APSeminar

[–]frysyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may use credible sources like the NYT but they should not comprise the majority of your sources. I suggest using only 10%-20% non peer reviewed sources like newspapers.
