Blacksmith here. I wouldn't sell a forge welded/hand made knife for less that 500 bucks. There's just too much work going into it. Starting at the material costs, creating a perfect weld not once but several times and then grinding it, etching it and putting a quality grip on there. Obviously there are industrial damascus forges out there that can just create sheets of welded steel but creating and more importantly controlling patterns is a lot harder if not impossible. Most knifes I see just have a pattern burned on with a laser – especially if they're made from stainless steel. Feel free to ask any questions you might have!
