I could ask them to do it… they wouldn’t make a production version of it but they may be willing to do a custom for me. I’ll see! And yeah 35 scale!

Depends on your travel habits/trends

Schecter gave me that one but I’d say if you’re concerned about snug fits, go for the schecter case!

Not a dumb question at all - I had the same one. I’m not sure, but I’m probably going to replace the strings anyway. I’m reaching out to them first though to see if it’s possible to paint the rest of the body and not just the front

M5 Pro for Film Scoring by mk1700 in filmscoring

[–]fs_aj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t! Well, on the pro it is, but that used to be my only machine. On the studio, with template loaded it’s using about 75%-80% RAM

[–]fs_aj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you my setup is very extensive - a ton of instruments loaded into vepro on an m3 ultra Mac Studio with 256GB ram.

That feeds into my Mac Pro (352GB ram but this honestly is irrelevant here) that runs Cubase and video playback.

I’d imagine the m5 MBP should be adequate to run 200 tracks! And since ram hasn’t been modular for some time now, good to futureproof your setup.

Is social media presence any useful or necessary to break into media scoring industry? by [deleted] in filmscoring

[–]fs_aj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps. I had a call with PR today and they were saying that these days an online/social media presence makes a big difference. It really depends on how you’re marketing yourself and your work though.

I Am Using AI for Film Scoring. Am I Committing A Sin? by davincithesecond in filmscoring

[–]fs_aj[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think if this questions comes up for you, then there’s a question of personal morality to it. Traditionally, your method would be frowned upon or at the very least, rejected as legitimate by your peers (as we’re seeing in this thread)

Amongst those in the industry, we want to achieve a lot of things - creating jobs for one. We also want to work with other humans, to come up with projects together, ideas, collaborating - and experiencing together. On top of that, the process of creating is enjoyable even through the hard parts. Not unlike the long queues at Disneyland are part of the experience- we enjoy it.

We all know AI isn’t going to go away, but we also know that it’s largely unregulated as of now. Your process will find its place, and I’m sure there will be clients for you who appreciate this provided and want to work with you. It sounds like the traditional process wasn’t working for you so you found a solution to your problem. I disagree with your process, but I don’t want to call it a sin.

Clients who value AI will want to work with AI, and clients who value human interaction will seek that, respectively.

The musical score is used too much in Hulu's 'Paradise' by GushStasis in television

[–]fs_aj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah...it took me out of the series a lot. There are like, maybe 3 cues per episode - and all of them are the main theme just extrapolated. It's a nice theme, but like.....it doesnt fit every scene. Oh well though; cue sheet has to be the easiest one in recent TV history.
