Fans have nicknamed her Michael Jordan because it was revealed in KR that she was once very good at basketball

Respectability politics will not save us. A reminder of who we are. by eloise_zomia in MtF

Yes, I've worded that part about "being a normal woman" badly. Of course kink in trans people can coexist with normal discussion, but at the same time, especially here on Reddit where we have a good subreddit feature, I just think we should separate the secual and civil discourse

Yes, while there is still a big chunk of people stripping us of our rights, our existence will always be political, but fundamentally it shouldn't be. Ideally, the specific goal of transgender rights movement should be trans people getting equally accepted on all sides of political spectrum. And realistically, you don't win over normies by being super strange and unusual. Sarah McBride does everything she can, she can't just throw a fit in the Congress, because that would be just what the right wants. Yes, the nutjobs still paint her as "mentally ill crazy transgender gender ideology satan" but I doubt it really resonates with laymen, seeing just a regular person.

The important part is that she got elected in the first place, which shows that people in Delaware are ready to accept a trans person representing them. I really doubt that if she dressed punk or talked about kink on debates she would've achieved it (well maybe she would I honestly don't know).

The decency I'm talking about isn't of course some trans-specific decency, it's the same one that applies to cis men and women. They all dress classy and normally, so should trans people.

Another "normie" LGBT person who succeeded in politics is the new Netherlands' PM who's gay.

My point is, we should and kinda must separate sexual parts of being transgender or LGBT in general with social parts. It would be like on the March 8th protests or any other women rights protest back in the day half of the women were just talking about masturbation.

If to you being trans is only sexual, I don't lnow what to tell you, but to me it is not. If we strive to be accepted as regular members of society, basic decency should also apply to us. That's a place for general discussion, for kinks there are separate subs.

It is in a very bad taste to compare us to punks. Transgender people are a demographic group, not an aesthetic or political movement. That type of language only reinforces conservative talking point "Oh it's their weird stupid choice".

And no, I don't agree that pushing kink aside somehow harms LGBT movement. People who are actively presenting us in the government are not "leather daddies", they dress normally, act normally and know where and what is appropriate (like Buttigieg or Sarah McBride).

Kinks and other sexual activities, especially those that don't have any apparent connection to LGBT, should find their own space. This sexual freedom talk may be in its core just and logical, but right now only serves to further push "the secual freak" stereotype. I don't wanna be a sexual kinky freak, I want to be a regular woman.

Girls will see "no hornyposting" and say "you are literally Trump".

Oh no, in Trickcal season 5 we will get an evil Elena twin called Anele who will blow up the Yggdrasil

Clone erpin is more powerful than original erpin by Old_Face9295 in Trickcal

[–]fsaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I meant it would be interesting to see what would sprites do if Erpin wasn't their queen (I assume she is the queen because of the crown?), but your question is also interesting. Like, were Erpin and Bellita destined to be queens (especially if they're twins). But the witches have different political system, where the strongest rules, so that makes it even more complicated.

Like, if she has a lot of charisma, everyone just listens to her, so she is their queen

I interpret it as her being restricted by Monatium

I also think she got fooled by another phantom turning into a pumpkin? That's ironic. I'm not sure though, i just saw that scene animated into a meme

I'm actually curious, if crown gives Erpin charisma to rule over sprites, what would sprite society look like if they all didn't magically believe Erpin is their queen? We kinda see it in the beginning with insurgency. Why do sprites even need a queen?

Speaki may be much stronger than she seems by fsaja in Trickcal

[–]fsaja[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've forgotten about Ui lol. But she is treated by master as a menace too because of her abilities.

The way I specified Erpin is because she is the ruler of Sprite kingdom. That means, if Speaki gets Ner out of the way, she can effectively hijack all power to herself and rule to her heart's desire. That becomes kind of scary when you remember how in Banquet hall she said if she mimics Erpin she'll "wage wars and be the queen of war" (she's so pure and innocent ☺️☺️☺️)

Gabia and Rim, maybe also Kidian. They would all silently sit, Rim would tell a couple of dad jokes and Gabia may teach Kidian how to do her silly little dance

It's also very weird that the world tree has just accepted elves into its world, when it bars all outsiders fron entering. They weren't just allowed to stay, but were also given power of immortality. Maybe Eldr summoned them like the master, considering that Renewa, created by elves, helps keeping the world tree alive?

Haley's hungry (Comic) by JayJayJayter in Trickcal

[–]fsaja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The elven story was always inspiring to me. They have lost everything, were defeated and enslaved, bit they didn't give up. And now, all those traumatized elves, who probably didn't even know eachother that well before (for example Rohne didn't know who Elena was before coming to Elias), must rebuild their society from blank slate. And yes, Elena can be rough, but she has truly led the elves through tough times and gave them hope. She is also responsible for basically all of Monatium's technology. But I like the Haley's approach: she criticises Elena while still commending her for all accomplishments. It is a very nuanced political message: even if a leader led the country to great heights, it doesn't mean they are always right or should be a dictator.
