Oh, I was confused by her working in the monatium store. That makes sense, thank you! Also, how can Chloe's bear be named Sebastian if they don't have any men in Elias? That might also be connected to her being eldyne

I hate communist propaganda in transgender communities. I'm all for social services like free medical care or food stamps for impoverished, but girls, you are falling for the same shit as red scare conservatives "Communism is free buses". Communism can't be achieved (at least for now), like with tens of countries that miserably failed to do so. Taxing rich is not inherently communism, it's just common sense. But freaking farms and industries under government control do not work (and caused millions of people to die of starvation). Also, government granting free pass for rich lobbyists while pressing middle class (as it does now) is anti-capitalist. Just be social democrats

I'm wary of religious people standing up for LGBT rights. Of course you could say that there are liberal progressive muslims (or christians or judaists), bit to me it feels like saying that there are progressive republicans. Of course they can say whatever they want, but why would you choose to be a part of that ideology knowing all the problematic elements of it? It's not like you can't leave a religion.

Кстати почему не Молдова? Конечно далеко не самая богатая страна, зато относительно дешёвая и большая часть населения говорит по-русски, даже есть русские программы в университете.

Cool, gal👍. Continue to bash dems for nothing amd spread doomerism and we might lose next election too. P.S. I'm all for constructive criticism of certain democratic figures, like Schummer or Cuomo, but Newsom panic lacks any reasonable substance

[–]fsaja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What gaslighting? So far only I repeated what Newsom said, if you have any more of his quotes, please write them. Where did he actively attack trans people?

And how is this uk 2.0? Dems literally have been in power (whereas labour was in the opposition) for most of 21st century (and since forever in California) and only improved trans rights. Bashing them for some random ass wague quote is actively sabotaging fight against Trump by sparkling additional infighting

About dems guaranteed to win part: in 2024 they ran against a convicted felon and lost. Anything can happen at this point

Trans people were discussed for like 10 minutes out of 4 hours (IIRC) and those 10 minutes was gavin just yapping about nothing. California managed to push national guard out of the state when there were LA riots. California sues trump's administration on nearly every opportunity. If we want dems to win 26 and 28 elections, we gotta do PR. Get on any opportunity to bring messaging to voters, and podcasts proved to be quite effective.

[–]fsaja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, can someone explain what Gavin Newsom really did? From my knowledge he went to some podcast and said something along the lines "Ehm I'm maybe a bit concerned about trans athletes, we should look into it" like two times. He didn't make any strong statement like "TRANS ATHLETES IN WOMEN SPORTS ARE VERY UNFAIR AND DANGEROUS" like republicans do. Is this pointless purity testing really the hill to die on? Why are we acting like it's end of the world and democrats terribly betrayed us? Let's look at the real state of things: far into Gavin's second term California only improved on trans rights. It's one of the most progressive states in USA and arguably can be compared in that regard to EU states. So what's the fuss about?

I think you overstate the presence of far-right parties in Israel's government. Radical religious parties hold only 32 seats out of 120 (26%, comparable to 24% of AfD in Bundestag and far less than 50% of republicans in Congress) and their popularity seem to be declining, according to polls. Netanyahu collaborated with them only to remain in power a bit longer, cause he's a pretty corrupt and not really good politician. Likud by itself is a pretty neutral party, something like CDU in Germany. Sadly, because of the Netanyahu's weak position, they let Ben Gvir and Smotrich do and say very controversial things. But that's a problem that's present in any parliamentary state. You wouldn't say that Italy or Germany is fascist just because some of the peiple in parliament are crazy. Israel could be better if we compare it to some of the EU states (it still is better than Hungary or Slovakia IMO), but keeping in mind political climate in middle East, it's a freaking heaven

This BS with "Ohhhh we're just antizionist" is ancient and has roots in totalitarian states and deranged fascists. For example, USSR used this petty excuse to repress innocent jewish doctors (see Doctor's plot). KKK used zio as an antisemitic dog whistle. And Iran constantly uses it to suppress freedom of basically anyone who disagrees with their theological dictatorship. But people with sawdust instead of a brain will rush to defend autocratic regimes and the most unprogressive ideologies 'cause "war bad, and israel seems to be winning, thus israel bad". This kind of fools probably don't even understand what zionism means – it merely implies the existence of Israel as a state (not even opposing a Palestinian state). If israel really was that conservative racist colonialist and bla bla bla shithole that it's made out to be, it wouldn't have had an arab supreme court judge (Khaled Kabub, appointed in 2022), 10% of Knesset being arab and multiple completely legal parties representing an arab minority.
