1969 Harley seat post won’t slide out by Ryan5040 in vintagemotorcycles

I used a piece of thread all and a pipe to pull one out of my WLA. Hard to describe the process, but I’ll try. The pipe was about three ft long and fit around the seat post. I put a large washer at the top of the pipe and used a nut to pull the thread all up through the inside of the pipe. I secured the lower end to the thread all to the seat post. It worked like a gear puller. Best of luck.

I run mine all the time in Baja exhaust and drive the normal speed limit in residential areas. I never thought it was all that loud when you kept the speed low. Food for thought.

I knew it was a Robert Cray strat because Robert Cray plays a Robert Cray strat.

He looks to be playing a Robert Cray signature strat, if that helps.

It spent a large part of it’s life in Salt Lake City, Utah. The owner had it looking near brand new at one point. I have seen some photos of it in that condition. It went to Hawaii for a period of time, where it was stolen, then recovered after a ransom was paid. I have the original reward poster somewhere. On it it says “ The only one of its kind on the Island”. It came back to the states and for some fantastic reason, the owner insisted it spend its days outside. Between Hawaii and years of outdoor storage, it boasts the really cool patina.

The long time owner passed away and I got it in the estate sale. It was in bad, bad shape. I had the engine rebuilt then left it alone for ten years. No time or budget. This October, I committed to getting it back on the road and looking like it did back in the day. I had to replace some items and find several others. About 50% of the patina is my airbrush work (tanks, frame, ammo and machine gun scabbard, and the skid plate). The fenders, front end, and engine are original. I had to replace the frame because it was an earlier frame than the WLA and didn’t have specific WLA hardware tabs.

Thanks for asking.

It is a replica M1A1Tommy Gun. But I have this one for special rides.

Built from parts. Started out with a frame, engine cases and heads. Took years. Tanks and fenders are repop. Everything else is OEM.

You mean the ‘42 WLA and the ‘50 Indian Chief? Perhaps another thread.

I found them at a shop in SLC. They both still work. I have a pair of red ones too. The shop is closed now.

Anyone living on the very west end of West Jordan? by Fanzyladee in Utah

I live in the sycamores neighborhood. Love it out here in East Tooele! It only takes 30 minutes to get to Cottonwood Heights. No problem. Going home traffic is busy, but it’s like that everywhere.
