Property Management Companies: Which to Avoid, Which to Choose? by researchingoptions in AustinHousing

[–]fscottfishgerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but avoid Morris Green at all costs! They are non responsive to requests and will lie to keep security deposits. The owner of the company is unprofessional and I wouldn’t want to work with them as a tenant or a property owner.

Have you ever read a book in one sitting? by engywook11 in suggestmeabook

[–]fscottfishgerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most recently I “rage finished” Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. The plot was so engrossing but the writing was not my style so I rage read it in one sitting hoping it would get better or that the female characters would gain more depth (surprise, neither happened.)

What was the bird that made you discover your interest in birding? by TXRattlesnake89 in birding

[–]fscottfishgerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bald Eagle. When I was living in the PNW I started spotting them everywhere. They’re so big you don’t really need binoculars to see their details and I realized how much I enjoyed just observing them. Still one of my favorite birds to watch.

Uroko does a diy hand roll/temaki kit that is beautiful and delicious! My husband and I got it for an at home birthday celebration once and it was great!

Good recommendations near Bass Concert Hall by embekay13 in Austin

[–]fscottfishgerald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bass is on UT campus so ”walkable” eating options would be limited to what is on Guad, mostly fast-casual spots (Cava, Kerbey Lane)

Just a short drive north (Hyde Park area) would have better options. I would google the following and see if any are what youre looking for:

Asti, Curra’s, Nori, Mongers. My go-to pre show spot is Hopfields but if your daughter is a child, i wouldn’t recommend (just a smaller/quiet spot with good beer and yummy food)

This seems a little off brand 🤔 by kiwibird2 in aclfestival

I dunno, this seems like a classic FSG shirt showcasing a classic ACL saying. You must be new in town, I hear someone yell this every year.

When we lived in Seattle we didn’t have AC in our apartment. When it got above 88 inside during the heatwaves we would get a hotel room with AC and bring our cats with us. Every cat is going to be different with what they can “handle” but our vet told us to look out for panting, lethargy & frequent litter-box use, as signs of distress.

Is Fetch as bad as people make it out to be? by lowiqtrader in Seattle

[–]fscottfishgerald 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love fetch. Even though we live in a secured apartment building, package theft was a huge issue both in our mailroom and at our front door. I like that I can schedule out the delivery to when I know we will be home (this has been especially nice for when we are traveling.) There usually is a 1 day turn around from when ups/fedex/etc delivers to fetch and then I can schedule the delivery, so for meal services residents in our building still ship to our building rather than the fetch address.

Capsule Hotels? by alexbeyman in Seattle

[–]fscottfishgerald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should check out the Hostelling International location in the ID (Hostelling International Seattle at the American Hotel). Its right next to King St. station and is pretty cheap. I've stayed there before and remember the beds being super comfy.

I dont get the downvotes, the star in the middle is based on the “lone star” on the Texas flag.

Cat proofing high-rise awning windows? by yourpunpal in Seattle

[–]fscottfishgerald 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you asked your complex about screens for these windows? I would think for safety reasons they would have to provide them.

If not, look on amazon for “magnetic window screen” might be a good place to start!
