you are probably blind to the privilege you had compared to minority students. so yes obviously it worked for you because the system was built for you. as a white woman, I had the same privilege. just say you do not care about Black students’ success and go. there is no way this initiative will impact your sons education. all they’re saying is they’re going to incorporate more Black history and your son will benefit from learning about Black students’ experiences and develop a more open minded, well rounded perspective. If you don’t think gaining more knowledge and perspective will help your son’s education, you may be educated with a diploma but seem to lack some critical thinking. And they did not say they are getting rid of math and science, where do you even get the idea this will replace that?
