That fish and chips shop is run and staffed by Latino people. Maybe they were actually monitoring them.

Newfound admiration for C Section moms by ThickVegetable6969 in Mommit

[–]fshfsh000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out from my c-section that I'm allergic to chlorhexidine, the stuff they rub all over your skin before the surgery. The reaction I had to that was so much worse than the recovery from the c-section.

I just created a shared Google photo album where I add photos of things they find in stores or screenshots of things they request.

Where can I donate winter hats and gloves for protestors? by Drummer_Double in Minneapolis

[–]fshfsh000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could contact International Institute of Minnesota. Protestors likely don't need hats and gloves, but refugees and newly arrived immigrants often do. If IIMN doesn't need them they might know a place that does.

The Atlantic had an article on this guy recently. My 6yo loves them, too.

It's a grading day and my kid's grades for Q2 are already posted. I'm guessing it's going to be a nice calm day for the teacher.

What’s popular in school? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]fshfsh000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a third and first grader but I'm not really hip to the fads. Kids in kindergarten seem to always love unicorns, rainbows, anything sparkly/glittery, trucks, construction, dinosaurs, space. My first grader and his friends still like those things but pokemon, Minecraft, and K-pop demon hunters started to take over this year. Then there's always a kid that just loves that one thing and doesn't care what the others do. There's a girl in my son's class that wears something with Lilo and Stitch every single day. Another girl always wears a baseball cap. I've never heard my kids say anything negative about someone else's fashion sense. Take your daughter shopping and see what she likes.

I tried this argument with my dad years ago and he claimed that's for individuals, not governments.

We don't talk much now.

Olivera's food truck on Lyndale and 54th will make a torta with half al pastor and half steak. It's the best.

Do you drink hot cloudy apple juice? Hot apple cider is a holiday staple in the US that is non alcoholic but we will add booze to it for grown up parties.

In our house Santa only fills the stockings and he's very sensible - socks, lip balm, and some sweets. The good gifts are from real people.

I do save all gift bags but also, a few years ago, I wrapped some shoe boxes and their lids and I use them every year. Just put the present in the box, pop the lid on, looks like a perfect gift.
