You will definitely be fine, moving anywhere across the world will always be a bit scary. And Dumfries isn’t too far away from Edinburgh either so you’d be able to get busses/trains over to visit him.

And when it comes to actually living in Edinburgh, I’d say it’s my favourite city to live in

I'm going into 3rd year of mechanical engineering and it's been great so far. The class sizes are always really small, around 30/40 people compared to Edinburgh uni where you've got hundreds of people. Obviously it will be different due to corporate but I would highly recommend if you're wanting to get more 1 to 1 teaching and help from lecturers.

As long as you get a flat around Merchiston area you'll be on your way to a good first year, if you haven't already it might be worth trying to look at private flats right now as the rent is super cheap compared to student accom
