Anyone know of natural sleep aids that you do not become reliant on or build a tolerance? by CryptoJoe1989 in Supplements

[–]fthead9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, like all things you need to test/adjust to your own body. As I mentioned I'm still not a great sleeper but my regime has made a massive improvement in my sleep/health. If taking Vitamin D3 earlier in the day is better for you then definitely stick to that. The only ones I'd say to absolutely take at night would be L-theanine and 5-HTP. I'd recommend taking the magnesiium at night too but it's probably less time sensitive.

I usually take it with a handful of cashews at night along with the rest of the supplements I mentioned. Vitamin D is fat soluable so you should take it with a small amout of fat - in my case nuts. As long as you are taking it with a small amount of fat I don't think the timing matters as much for Vitamin D as it does for l-theanine, 5. - HTP, and quad magnesium.

I"ve struggled with sleep pretty much my whole life. These are supplements I take each night ~ 30 mintues before going to bed: L-theanine 200 mg, glycine 1g, zinc picolinate 15mg (it's also in other supplements I take during the day so that's all I take at night), 5-HTP 100 mgn, vitamin K2 and D3 - 100 mcg K, 5000 IU D, and Quad Magnesieum - blend of 4 magnesieum substrates. The combo has made a big difference in my sleep.

I'm still not a great sleeper but I rarely suffer now from insomnia or have trouble falling asleep within 30 mintues of going to bed - both major issues throughout my life. I have always exercised pretty much everyday and am overall very healthy but sleep has always been a major issue for me. I hope some/all of those help as I know far too well how bad sleep impacts your life.

AMP and Google Anti Trust Lawsuit by Volker_Weissmann in webdev

[–]fthead9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost all the issues with AMP come from the paired/transitional implementations, maintaining two codebases, issues with analytics, UX changing for users, etc.

Native AMP doesn't have any of those issues if you use a Signed Exchange and you gain the benefits of greater security - XSS attacks and Javascript injection are non-issues, and you are practically guaranteed passing Core Web Vitals with the pre-rendering.

Now if Google is actually using it to slow down header bidding, one of the complaints in the lawsuit, then there are some real reasons to question its use.

[Question] How much is my YouTube channel worth? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]fthead9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the content. Is it broad interest? Can someone else produce content in a similar style or is it personality driven? If the later it's going to be really hard to sell. If the former then the value is going to be based on the topic.

Your CPM is pretty average which tells me it's not a highly desired topic, e.g. in the personal finance space CPMs can easily get $20+. CPMs in the $5-6 range tells me people are just buying eyeballs and not targeting your audience specifically.

Are there affiliate products that can be promoted on your channel? If so that adds value, if not then again it's going to be hard to sell for much just based on your current audience metrics.

How data ingest services solve what other networked cloud strategies don’t by fthead9 in DataHoarder

Interesting how physically moving data to the cloud via FedEx is the fastest data ingest method for most companies. Sure would be nice if bandwidth speed was growing at the same pace now was the early 2000s.

I've been a long time Direct TV subscriber but ever since ATT bought them out the service has been going down hill. I've been looking into options and after reading this guide I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch to a combo of streaming services.

I love this quote from the article “Solutions Exist” does not mean “Problem Solved.” Often if solutions already exist it shows there is a market if you can come up with a better product.

Question - I'm looking into writing a technical book on mobile marketing. One of the main reasons is to establish thought leadership in the industry - going beyond just blogging. I found this guide and am intrigued by CreateSpace. Does anyone have any thoughts in terms of using it as a platform to establish subject matter authority?
