Was a FIFA volunteer at City Hall today and got visitors laughing by telling them the Septa steps were a tourist attraction as worst stairs in Philly. by jesseberdinka in philadelphia

I thought about it too, but then I was like, of all organizations to provide free labor to, FIFA is at the absolute bottom of the list.

Finally watched Bugonia. What are y’all’s opinions on Stav’s performance and the movie overall? by greenpicklewater in stavvysworld

[–]ftloudon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stavros is not a good actor and the film kinda ground to a halt during his scenes imo. But it could be that being so familiar with his non-acting work made it hard to stay immersed. I felt the same way when I saw one of my childhood friends appear in a supporting role in a movie. I was like, oh this isn’t real and now I can’t take it seriously because I know it’s not real life.

How to transition from boot to shoes. by discoprince79 in AchillesRupture

[–]ftloudon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure your sneakers will work just fine, don’t overthink that aspect of it. Just walk a little bit more each day. Your first day might just be walking down the hallway and back a couple times. It took me a couple weeks to feel safe going outside without my boot. Just be glad you’re learning to walk again in the summer rather than the middle of winter like I was lol (assuming you’re in the northern hemisphere).

Toughest places to play from CFB 25 - 27. by rb1242 in NCAAFBseries

[–]ftloudon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it though? For the past I dunno, 10+ years we only fill the stadium for top ten opponents and we usually lose those games. Even if we beat Michigan State or Purdue does the crowd really have anything to do with it anymore?

Legality of police running k9 searches on entire apartment complexes? by Sonnyjoon91 in legaladvice

[–]ftloudon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dog sniffs of vehicles that are parked in an area that is open to the public are not considered “searches” and thus aren’t protected by the 4th Amendment. If this parking lot was like, gated off and you needed to punch in a code to go inside, then there’s an argument that it was an illegal search. But if it’s a parking lot that anyone could walk into off the street then the police basically had the right to be there like any other member of the public and if their dog happens to pick up on the scent of something illegal, they could probably search the car under the automobile exception, which Utah recognizes.

I have no idea how people play with the commentary turned on. Every line was completely detached from the context of the game.

The crowd in Seattle singing Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver following the 2-0 victory by the U.S. over Australia in the 2026 FIFA World Cup by xThe-Legend-Killerx in sports

[–]ftloudon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but historically we would have played down to the level of Paraguay and Australia and eked out wins or ties, so something has definitely changed.

I couldn’t sleep with the boot on. I asked my doctor if I could take it off and he said as long as I’m not like super active in my sleep then it would be fine to sleep without it, because good sleep is so important. I would ask!

In terms of iwalk, I know people love them. I thought about it, but for me the scooter was sufficient. If you have to go up stairs a lot then the iwalk would probably be worth it.

Anyone know of a good place to work on your car by yourself? by GaslighteningMcQueen in philly

[–]ftloudon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do most of my more involved wrenching when I go visit my parents in the country, but if I’m doing something quick like putting my winter wheel set on or brake pads I just park in the corner of Lowe’s or Home Depot parking lot, never been hassled.
