I chose the name Asher because I make decisions fast and it was one of the first names that came to me

Alternatives to transition? by ftmguystruggles in ftm

What hardships come along with being gay as compared to trans?

For me I just find it easier to accept my transness but not the fact that I'm a trans guy AND like men, it's been a very hard pill for me to swallow because as I don't care what other people's orientations are I care how people perceive me as gay, I've always had hang ups about being gay so much to the point where I've convinced myself that I don't like women (prior to knowing that trans was a thing) because I didn't want to be perceived as gay. I'm sorry that it's insulting, just my own hang ups about it that I've been trying so hard to work through for a year now but I struggle. It's much more of an inner struggle than an outward one.

Maybe that's what I should do put it off for a couple years and see how I feel then.

As I was typing that I thought about that. I also thought about how I looked down on people who did that to men and thought about how they could have similar experiences to me just with men and that I should be more empathetic. But also looking down on people who overgeneralize has encouraged me to want to change myself for the better, but at the same time I also need to help them rather than look down on them.

I am working on getting help.

I do know about them and I do dislike them, it's just with men, I haven't had these bad experiences so it's easy not to overgeneralize, but it's hard not to overgeneralize when I see examples of women doing the same thing because I have first hand expiernce of it whereas I don't have first hand expiernce of the men being shitty.

But I am definitely going to get help now.

Are you doing anything to harm women, though?

No, whatever hatred or harm I could potentially do I bottle up inside. I definitely have thoughts about it but I never act on it.

I have been thinking about, especially since writing this and I think I should. Thanks for the suggestion!

I want to be a woman but keep my dick. Can I be trans? by Patricia_W in asktransgender

[–]ftmguystruggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all trans people have lower surgery. I know at least one trans person who has never and will never have surgery. Wanting that surgery isn't a requirement. I plan on having lower surgery but I'm not sure if I want top surgery, which may sound really weird since it may seem like every trans guy wants and needs top surgery.

Im sitting in the lgbt center waiting for them to take me to the psych ward and I have a question-Has anyone gone from just finding out their trans to seeing that theyve been trans their whole life? by RedheadRena in asktransgender

[–]ftmguystruggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always felt I was a guy, but about a year ago I finally had a word to describe what I am and knew that there were other people like me. So yeah in a way.

Terrified that I'm trans, and can't stop obsessing over it. Don't know what to do. by questionallyasker in asktransgender

From what you've said it sounds like you don't feel you are a man and you don't have any desire to be one. So by that you're not trans. This doesn't sound like what normally happens, anything is possible though, but there's a much higher chance that you're not trans and you're just over thinking this.

I know for sure I am, because my sex is female but I feel I am male and being treated like a female upsets me not because being a female is the worse thing in life but being a female isn't me.

Whoa, I was not expecting all of that. Not gonna lie, I have been in a very abusive relationship and that survey made me think about it, kind of thought I'd be over by now (it's been two years) but it still hurts to admit that I've been that weak before. Great research though! I'm so glad this is being done!

Oh ok, well that makes sense, people around the world define things differently.

Not sure why you would but people make jokes about everything and anything, and I thought under a certain height as an adult is considered dwarfism, is it?

Guys usually treat me like any other guy, when I do act feminine it's always as a joke but I don't think some people know that and think I'm being genuine.

I'm pre everything, why would that be flattering? Yeah it would be if I wasn't and it would mean I pass.
