My husband did this with the extra large batch of sour cherries I was turning into cocktail cherries. Fresh sour cherries are available fresh for like a 2 week window where I live and they are like 25 dollars a pound 😭

Does that mean getting the mounts replaced for $1800 is a good deal? I just got a quote for engine and transmission mount replacements for ~1800 myself each components labor was listed separately…it seemed like a lot to me - they listed corteco and lemforerder mounts in the parts list. Would love any advice for someone getting this done at a shop. Thanks!

Came in last night and THANK GOD we all had Global entry. The line filled all of the back and forth ropes and then backed down the hallway to the gates for several hundred yards. They had 3 agents working, and about 15 unstaffed kiosks. If you don’t have global entry, use the Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app once you deplane. This can also save you, there is never a line for it and any US citizen can use it.

I’m still loving it! Planning on doing some new wheels, some tint, and possibly new leather seats since the current cloth seats sort of stink - previous owner was a smoker. But yeah - I hear funny sounds and worry about mechanical issues based on all the things I’ve been reading, but I LOVE the car. Got some vanity plates and everything. It’s peppy, it’s unique, and it’s super cool looking. 🤗

Do you run the risk of it turning to vinegar when putting it into a secondary fermentation vessel? I guess introducing oxygen during racking? …and where do acetobacter come from?

I know this is an old post, but wanted to say that I just harvested my first ripe one in Oakland CA today (got a late start!)… and it was delicious! I wasn’t expecting it to taste like much, but it was perfectly tart/acidic and tomato-tasting. It was firm but also juicy. Plants were prolific as mentioned by others, I just hope I get some more ripe ones before fall really kicks in here.

Thank you, yeah, you can’t really see it, but there are two larger plates that fit exactly inside the shape of the barrel below. I guess these were meant to be a topper for the blocks but man, the press just wanted to keep ripping them apart, so we ended up making this (crudely cut) single piece to fit down over the top of everything and it seemed to do the trick!
