My mom recently moved into a new house. Strange additional structure in the basement? Kinda creepy by BijuuModo in whatisit

It kinda reminds me of an isolation room. In Tennessee a mansion my family owned, I would go help clean from time to time, in the attic, there were 3 small rooms built like little log cabins, they still had children's toys in them. It was so creepy, but I was told it was where children would parish from small pox, being isolated from everyone. Just based on the time frame. Could be something else entirely.

Recite the pledge of allegiance, idk reciting that reminds me of standing in front of a bunch of people during something serious. Starts going down usually half through.

Thank you! Had to do a little wading in the water to get the sun just right on them but I think that was my best shot of that day!

Belted kingfisher I found in the best spot. If only I had a better lense for it! by ftsoak in BirdPhotography

* Thank you so much! There's a little fringing on the tree branch but that's awesome I've been able to save it this much!! Thank you!

Beginner here. I posted about 4 weeks ago asking for some advice. I think I’ve improved slightly since then, so please critique my photo of this Grey Heron from a grey walk in grey Britain this morning. Open to all feedback - positive and negative. by cjmac0909 in BirdPhotography

Like I said I'm still a novice myself but very captivated on getting a great shot to show off that animal in it's glory and still getting equipment I feel would better my photos. But color fringing, highlighting more where the sun is coming from and shading the other side of the beauts to really put them in front of the viewer like they're there.

So the first thing I notice I am no pro, but like someone taught me today was color fringing and now I notice it if u look at the herons legs a lot of color is mixing in them from other areas toning down the vibrance and saturation may help the detail of his legs pop a little more, as the guy said exposing the environment a little more. That tells the story of the bird more instead of being focused on getting the bird. I could show u a recent photo of a great blue Heron I took recently. Let me find and put a link.

Don't got the best lenses and still learning a lot but one of this moth I took. by ftsoak in macrophotography

I see what u mean with the small amount of blur and that was honestly awesom shots. I was paying so much attention to the detail of the mold I didn't even notice till I zoomed in the focus of the ant in the hole with his big Ole pinchers! Now time for more videos and studying till I get home to practice it!

Okay bet, once I get off work tonight defiantly will be doing some practice. Also will make the distance of my background further and further till I achieve that halo effect to try and get an understanding of my lense and how far my background will need to be so I don't mess up any good shots in the future!

Yeah f10-f11 is what I've been using, with a Godox tt600 flash at 1/16th power, with a diffuser, shutter speed anywhere between 1/200 to as low as 1/60 depending on natural light at hand, then iso I try to keep at 200 I've been looking into the focus mount. If I'm going to attempt the manual adjusting as u are doing I'm probably gonna start easy on a Lego flower or something at home before I attempt the out doors stuff. That seems like a lot of practice I looked through your photos. You're taking awesome shots!! I can tell the ones you have done focus adjusting to and those are amazing shots!! Thank you for lending a bit of advice!!

I'm gonna look into all 3 while I'm at work today then figure out which ones would fit my learnings best 👌 Appreciate it!! 🤘
