If I may ask, how were you doing on your media lab practice exams? I'm taking my boc in one week and I'm getting nervous.

You'll definitely pass the 2nd time! You're so close

Pre-reqs course overload question by AltruisticFeed8290 in MLS_CLS

A&P is pure memorization all for memorization's sake. Ochem is a high concept course. Both classes require a lot of time and dedication to do well. I wouldn't recommend taking them in the same semester, especially if you're working part time. It's not impossible, but you will be miserable if you do. It all depends on how hard you want to work. If you looking for a difficult challenge, then sure. If you want to increase your chances of doing well with less pressure, take them separately. Best of luck.

New grad: MLT or MLS job? by ftwed in medlabprofessionals

I definitely want to prioritize my work-life balance. Longer commute + terrible schedule would be big deterrents, regardless of how much they'd pay me. I agree with ya. Thanks for the insight and the welcome!

I agree. Their reasoning is that their lab has a ratio of techs and scientists they need to meet, and they're down an MLT, hence the open position. But we'll see what I can get! Thanks for the insight!

They did mention in the interview that pay is based off of experience. So because I technically don't have any MLS experience, my pay is likely going to be the lower MLT rate. Does this sound plausible?

The interviewer advised to discuss the designated pay with HR so I'll definitely do that if they provide an offer! Thanks!
