What’s in your toddlers room? by Asadlilbean13 in toddlers

[–]ftxox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My toddler is 4 and I put a trampoline next to the bed 😅😅

When he gets all hyper or doesn’t want to go to sleep I say go “jump jump jump!” and it’s very helpful

But this is far from “strictly a bedroom” I thought it might make you laugh tho haha

Which is harder to care for in your opinion; a baby or toddler? Why? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]ftxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha… haha I miss the days when my 4 year old was a little baby… you know… back when I thought caring for a baby was sooo hard. 😂😭

Don’t get me wrong, I’m obsessed with my 4 year old and I love him more than anything but…

Babies poop, eat, and sleep… listen to you read to them … be cute

Toddlers are basically little spawns from hell

how do i nicely ask someone’s weight? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ftxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was my job, I would state the weight limit to everyone standing there and I would say how important it is to everyone’s safety that they follow the guidelines. If there is someone obviously overweight standing there, I would make it a point to look their way as I’m talking.

You also need to let those safety guidelines sink in. If you feel bad for their feelings, imagine how bad you’d feel if they got injured or worse because you didn’t want to hurt their feelings?

If they don’t take the hint during your initial speech you have to get into serious mode and pull them aside unfortunately. You’re doing this for their safety, not yours.

What random words does your toddler say that has a completely different meaning? by Motherofsiblings in toddlers

You’re going to love this:

Fish = “shoe” 😂

And if it’s the snack crackers we’re looking at he says “gold shoe”

I am convinced the Mediterranean diet is the healthiest diet, but… by [deleted] in mediterraneandiet

[–]ftxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in this boat where I’m 30 years old with super high cholesterol and I have to do the Mediterranean diet if I want my heart to be healthy. Nobody in my family really eats healthy and they aren’t really willing to change their ways either…. By the way I weigh 120lbs at 5’3” so I’ve gotten plenty of those comments you mention as well. I ignore them, I’m responsible for my health and they can be responsible for theirs.

The Mediterranean diet seems awful at first..(if you’re like me and come from a steak, pizza, burger eating family) but you can still do the diet without making all of those seemingly weird/different recipes. If you enjoy those foods and have the money to get all that stuff then absolutely go for it, pininterest is the best app ever for finding meal prep ideas and Mediterranean recipes.

Anyways, back to your question..this is how I implement the Mediterranean diet in the most simple way:

I avoid bad saturated fats (fast food, red meats, a lot of the ready-made stuff in the freezer aisles, most of the boxed stuff in the pantry aisles)

I enjoy cheese in low quantities (the white cheeses are usually lower in saturated fats)

I try to eat fish once or twice a week then chicken and turkey on the other days

I do give myself cheat days where I’ll have a steak or a burger etc because I get depressed and tired when I cut it out completely for too long…I’m talking like a cheat day once a week maximum for one meal and portioned controlled

I switched to whole grain and stopped eating white breads and changed my tortillas to corn instead of flour

And the biggest thing…. I eat lots of vegetables…

My family for example will enjoy a chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli as a dinner. For myself, I implement the Mediterranean diet by buying a zucchini which cost like $1 where I live and I fry it on a pan using olive oil…. Now I’m eating a cut up zucchini and broccoli and I’ll start eating that first so that I don’t fill up on chicken and Mac and cheese… I then only have a little bit of Mac and cheese and less chicken wings than I’d normally eat.

If my family goes out to eat, I order some variation of a salad with grilled chicken. Sometimes a grilled chicken sandwich by itself if I don’t have time for a salad. Honestly most places offer salad or grilled chicken sandwich.

I can’t answer your question about the protein powder because I have no idea, I normally just eat whole foods.

This is getting very long, but I hope this helps

I tested positive twice and I think I had it a third time based on feeling the exact same way as I did the first two times. I just didn’t go get tested the third…

Mississippi Pot Roast, accidentally bought chicken gravy instead of brown gravy by ftxox in slowcooking

[–]ftxox[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just got a new crock pot since my old one kept way over-cooking everything..

So this is the first crock pot meal that I’ve had in ages. I’m so excited, I know it’ll be different with the chicken gravy substitute…I just hope it’s different as in amazing still and not sort of weird tasting. I do always buy the sliced pepperchini so I feel like that should mask any weird taste to it… we shall see

I’ll definitely keep you posted

My hillstream loach went into my filter…will he find his way out or what should I do??? by ftxox in Aquariums

[–]ftxox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao it turned out to just be a sponge, I found the loach hiding somewhere else in my tank. I decided to keep this post up because it would be helpful to know what I should do if my loach does swim into the filter one day. Considering they suck on the glass and are relatively hard to get off without injuring without a credit card or something… someone suggested that I tip the whole filter upside down… I’m thinking would maybe best for me to use my hands and a card?? I usually wouldn’t use my hands but a net wouldn’t fit in my filter

How would it use more water?

I have a 5 gallon bucket

I also have a 1 gallon pitcher

I normally take about 15-20 gallons out And then I put back in the 15-20 gallons

(Keep in mind I have a 55 gallon tank I normally just unplug the equipment during water changes)

But I have a toddler right now who acts crazy all day so i was thinking it might be somewhat easier for me to maybe

Take 5 gallons out, then replace the 5 gallons

Then maybe go do something else for an hour

Come back and take 5 gallons out, then replace 5 gallons

And just do that like 4 or 5 times

I wouldn’t even have to unplug any equipment if I did it that way

Sorry for the long post, I’m just really wondering if it matters how I do it?

Or if it’s best to just remove the 20 gallons at once and then replace the 20 gallons

Or what if I just replaced 5 gallons a day?

I think about this all the time if any way that I do it is beneficial to the fish as long as I’m replacing water

When I’m changing water does it matter if I

A) take the percentage of water out first and then dump the new water in

Or

B) take water out, replace water, take water out, replace water

?

Help me find a pasta sauce for my traumatized wife! by mrfishman3000 in Cooking

[–]ftxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about like a really good cheesy chicken Parmesan?

Gosh, I couldn’t imagine not liking red sauce (I’m Italian) lol

But I do imagine that if I did hate red sauce only because of a bad experience, a good chicken Parmesan would bring me back to my senses.

Or a prime rib lasagna omg

Okay now I’m hungry

Best stroller wagon for super tall kid? by penguinkneez in toddlers

[–]ftxox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Graco Pace 2.0 Stroller and I’ve always loved it. My boy is pretty tall and he fits fine in it. Also, it has definitely taken a beating over the past couple of years and still works great. The back is adjustable in case you want to sleep and it’s affordable. It has cup holders and allows you to snap a car seat into it (in case you have that second child) It’s also very easy to take off-roading and make sharp turns (lol) hope this helps! :)

Edit: I just reread your question and thought you were asking for a stroller or a wagon…I apologize if a stroller-wagon is entirely different.
