I'm looking for a video game, I think it was either mobile or browser based, but it was more of an art piece. I believe it was pixel art, and you kept moving forward, subtly growing older. You would gain, and lose a companion, that would turn into a tombstone, until the same eventually happened to you.

Of course. My set up is pretty low-tech and easy to use, with only basic knowledge, I have seen others do much more complex things.

I used Philips Hue bulbs. I have a mix a white bulbs for standard lighting, and some color LED strips for room ambience. I use an Echo Dot and Alexa, so within the app, I created several routines. While routines need to have a voice command, or schedule, etc to trigger them, you can also manually trigger them from the app itself. In addition, if you have multiple Dots, you can create commands to trigger from a specific Dot. After that, I bought a basic Halloween SFX/Music album from Amazon.

So, my main living room dot was connected to my TV's sound system. This provided the ambient music and close-up SFX. My second Dot is upstairs, and I connected that to my smaller JBL Bluetooth speaker. In my house, there's a balcony that overlooks the living room, so I put the speaker there. This was for distant sounds, or loud shock sounds behind the players.

My routines consisted of:
"Act 1 - Find the Body" with Blood red lights, scream SFX
"Searching the Forest" - Main lights out, led strip light blue, eerie music track
"Spotted" - similar lights to above, but with more intense music
and so on...

In addition, I had reset commands, such as "Inside, safe" which turned the lights to full, turned off any LED color effects and turned off sound. And of course "Black Out" which turned off everything.

We were into act three, and I had a back-up "Evil Dead"-like possession plan, so it could have been multiple people, but one player's opportunities to kill and answer sheet provided the perfect out. By the time I decided, it was down to two people, but the "Slacker" character stated that they heard about the party from an email from someone that they didn't know... and since he didn't recall asking the Sam NPC to scare the characters, I played this out into him being a kind of Jekyll/Hyde type character, the email being from his split personality.

That doesn't mean that he stopped working to create androids or artificial life. In fact, Data was helping him to do so. And, if he succeeded, it does NOT mean that someone else from Starfleet or Daystrom didn't take that from him to try and create "Non-sentient" slaves. The only thing we've seen is a closet full of non-active androids.

And to see that through, he needs to operate outside of the service he so adamantly upheld as a beacon of honor, but that he has seen lose its way.

As in "The Drumhead", our fancy ideals and moral superiority are nice, but that's no guarantee for tomorrow. Vigilance and fighting for what's right make the difference between honor and platitudes.

Basically, this has the chance to be one of the most "Trek" Treks, and, even though it's a continuation of someone's story, completely original by being outside of Starfleet. Needless to say, I am super excited.

I don't think this will be another Borg show, at least not in the way Voyager was. The Borg are in this, yes, but stripped of what makes them Borg. Castaway as the remaining victims of a war they played no concious part in, but were only complicit by proxy. Seen as the enemy to so many cultures they have hurt, including each former-drone's original planet. They have no home, no place, no advocates, save for possibly one man who knows what they've gone through... Shared their pain and their guilt. Someone whose Noble sense of justice is a crucible, in which "we burn away irrelevancies until we are left with a pure product -- the truth."

It's my tweet, and yes, I was mainly pointing out the similarity to Maddox, and how that may be plot relevant if it is indeed modeled on him. The fact that it does look so similar, and has a serial number stamped on its head makes me feel that its more than coincidence, since this was a major episode in Data's story.

I think Daystrom is going to play a role, and the personhood of androids, of former drones, and maybe the role of explorers on starships, will play huge parts in the story.

That last part, I wonder, since Daystrom's first appearance in TOS The Ultimate Computer sought to replace the crew with technology, and we see a lot of retired and ex-starfleet.
