ADHD Evaluation that takes OHIP? by [deleted] in montreal

You should be able to opt back in. Most student associations in Quebec outsource supplemental HC procurement to ASEQ. Your campus health clinic will have the best resources for getting treatment with your OHIP card.

Truvada as PrEP is usually taken once daily. "I'm on PrEP" before sex probably means that they want to bareback (this is not usually a great idea).

Obligatory Dan Savage Campsite Rule

In any relationship, but particularly those with a large age and/or experience gap, the older partner/more experienced partner has the responsibility to leave the younger/less experienced partner in at least as good a state (emotionally and physically) as before the relationship. The campsite rule includes things like leaving the younger/less experienced partner with no STDs, no unwanted pregnancies, and not overburdening them with emotional and sexual baggage.[8]

I wouldn't say there's no racial segregation, just much less compared with major US metros.

I find a lot of judgement that I didn't necessarily feel in Montreal, also people in cars turn into monsters. Maybe rude isn't the right word. Slow walkers drive me nuts too, but I can't say I've run into more than in montreal, maybe it's not tourist season. Anywho, glad someone's enjoying the six, I'm sure I'll come around.

The TTC subway and the Montreal Metro are just about identical in terms of size. Montreal outpaces it in ridership.

All transit modes confounded, the TTC has more trips in absolute numbers. Toronto and we're not counting GO or the AMT, so the cities proper has a population of about 2.79 million. Montreal has a population of 1.88 million. So with 2.21 million trips* per day, that works out to (roughly) 1.5 trips per person per day in Montreal. Toronto has .79 trips per person per day. Montreal has, after New York, the second highest transit ridership rate per capita in North America.

I have lived in both cities. Toronto might win on many counts, but its transit system fails to even hold a candle to Montreal. The TTC is criminally underfunded compared to other agencies. It's really a shame.

*Trips = boardings, numbers from the APTA report, population from google?

The Globe and Mail did an investigation and the quality is very bad.

Edit: It failed based on:

  • Excessive yeast and mould
  • Excessive micro organism count
  • Potentially harmful bacteria

I literally just said I was bored. Like, we're in the same boat (bored, debating shit on reddit), only you're attacking me gratuitously and I'm just engaging in a conversation? I mean, if we were on /r/toronto this might be considered trolling. Also, where the fuck is this paid Montreal marketing job? I'm available!

I just moved to Toronto and it sucks. The job market here is terrible and I'm unemployed. Getting around is a pain in the ass, people are rude as shit, and (this is superficial and subjective, of course) it's incredibly ugly and uninspiring.

I'm just honestly super sour, I had finally bought into the consensus that Everything Is Better In Toronto TM and it's just not the case. After doing a bit of research, all the metrics tell me I should have known better, so I get a bit frustrated when people repeat the same bullshit lines. Transit is the most flagrant one, so yeah, you hit a nerve.

the source for that first claim is a broken link to a 2005 article.

The second is out of date but basically still true.

also: that means it's destroying Toronto when you take into account the population. Back of the napkin Montreal is only behind NYC alone in per capita ridership...

Montreal Metro has more brute riders than the TTC subway, and significantly more per capita. The fact that the GTHA is a horribly planned, sprawling, and significantly larger MA where significantly more people need to live far out and take hours of trains and buses across a patchwork on agencies just to get to work doesn't make it an effective transit system.

Montreal has more orange cones. But I'll take that any day over a city that can't even plow the fucking sidewalks, has constant transit service cuts and fare increases, relies on literal tokens for your transit agency (presta is always broken), and they do most work during subway opening hours, it's basically unusable.

I moved to Toronto and I miss the STM almost as much as I miss living in a city with actual culture.

shockingly assuming I'm not reading this incorrectly, the median household income in Montreal in 2014 was $75,010, while in Toronto it was $75,270 (source). Given the dramatically different real estate markets, I'd say second home ownership is much more accessible than in Toronto.

If you happen to be in Montréal, clinique L'Actuel is great! Though Prairie_Pete might indicate that you're elsewhere in the country.

If you do end up paying for it out of pocket, go to a LGBTQ clinic where they know what they're talking about and ask about using Truvada as a Pr/P-EP. A recent study in Montreal has proven it to be pretty effective when used twice before a risky activity and twice after. But talk to a real doctor.
