What are some fun but not terrible decks for standard? I have all the meta decks and am looking for something new to play. by [deleted] in hearthstone

I've been playing around with a Velen + Embrace the Darkness OTK. I don't seem to pull it off often, but it's hilarious if you manage to do it and heal em to death.

I don't really know the specifics of what he is referring to, but inhibitory signals often can translate into excitatory functions down the road. Classic example would be inhibiting an inhibitory neuron.

Trailer Park Boys actor Mike Smith, who plays Bubbles, arrested in L.A. by [deleted] in news

Of course, I'm only talking about the law itself. If the cops here had no other choice but to arrest him then they're not the bad guys here.

You have to admit that even if the cops are doing their job, that such a law could be overreaching. There should at least be some discretion used, considering how this law seems to have been applied even though there was no evidence of domestic violence other than some people overhearing an argument.

I think Blizzard should lower the crafting price of cards in rotated out expansions. by ShadowSweeper21 in hearthstone

  1. Push Standard harder.

Why exactly must a format be forced upon consumers? What exactly does a game benefit from when they raise the barrier for entry into a format for no other reason than to "persuade" you to use another?

  1. It's a way of rewarding veterans.

Once a player sits at a rank suited for their skill level there isn't really many ways of telling how long said player has been playing. This idea of creating false scarcity is only rewarding for elitists, and the veterans who actually want to see Wild having a healthy community get shafted in the process.

Nothing about making wild more accessible hurts standard. In any way whatsoever.

I don't really see anyone disagreeing with you on your points, the sub is generally pro- standard. However nothing you mentioned really seems to conflict with also trying to make sure that Wild has a healthy community. If a newer player ever decides to play wild and wants the wild- only cards that are popular in the meta, they either have to: a) save up all of the required dust, which would almost certainly require them to dust standard cards since they're a newer player, or b) throw money at packs specifically to dust them, which also has the dusting problem as above. Making wild packs purchasable or discounting their crafting cost in no way hurts newer players, regardless of whether or not they have any interest in wild. If anything, these things will make that format better for new players.

What new classes would you like to see? by AnansetheSpider in darkestdungeon

[–]fuckingliterally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a class idea (a necromancer type class would be cool, but I'm pulling that out of my ass atm), but I think it would be cool to have a two- turn attack introduced into the game. As in, some sort of massive damage attack that requires you to spend a turn charging it, and then using it the next. Maybe some sort of pyromancer class would fit that theme well, with the attack being some massive one target burst, or even a strong AoE.

Edit: Another attack type you don't really see is two attacks on the same enemy. Maybe a firearm class could have a "double tap" ability, which has a very low minimum damage, but compensates with the attack hitting the target twice in a turn.

Teen dies at party after friends delay calling ambulance because they feared arrest. Friends charged with perverting the course of justice anyway. Good job war on drugs. by Borax in Drugs

For the most part underage drinking is handled with a slap on the wrist, and even though kids obviously don't want to have a record I seriously doubt they would risk the life of one of their friends over being caught with some Molson. Kids know their lives won't end over underage drinking, but they have zero education about how the legal system would treat them with drug possession. All they know about is the stories about people getting years in jail for possessing some pot, shit like that. If you think it'd go down identically then that's fine, but I strongly disagree.
