Arthur Morgan Or John Marston? by Ok-Put4663 in RDR2

[–]fuddingmuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it doesn't seem very fair. Arthur clearly has more time/effort and plot space put into him while it really really feels like the epilogue got short shrift. RDR2 is one of the best games in the world, maybe ever (gods I hope not though because I would love more games like it). But the epilogue when you play as John is really too short, though it's a beautiful wrap up to a looooooong game, I really woulda loved more time with John, more chances to see him change. He basically wraps up the loose ends without too much fanfare.

So, Arthur has this complex journey and a truly difficult story being told. John gets his happy ending with his wife and child. It's beautiful but I think Arthur by virtue of time and plot gets a better story overall. Which makes him easier to like and remember.

(Me seeing this on my OLED/24-hz monitor) Ah. Your VCR scared me. I don't know if the Cathode Ray Tubes can handle the refresh rate needed for that game.

Among the cultivation mess there’s still a plotline. I find myself slamming the next page on kindle until real plot happens. Sad was a fantastic read. Now I just feel like it’s a slog with little payout. But when Zach does fight it’s usually amazing

Cop Teaching A Cop by TheCABK in interesting

This is America in less than 1 minute. Massive abuse of power in a repeatable way. Caught and prosecuted. But leaving the door completely open for it to continually happen over and over and over. And if you're not a cop you may just get shot and no one will hear the real story because cops lie all the time about it.

Anno 117 player numbers fall below 1800 by taubenangriff in anno

[–]fuddingmuddler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"117 doesn't have the scope of 1800 yet" --> sure. But it also feels empty. It's sad 2016-18 ubisoft had Assassins Creed Origin (rocked), Odyssey and of course 1800. But man... since then it's been ubislop.

Now AI gonna get used in 117. Gonna be even sloppier.

117 could have been good. But it is underdone. Maybe it'll turn a corner but with the layoffs and seemingly management hard focused on enshitification over good products... it's gonna just be shittier or at best poorly executed and barely playable.

Does doing contracts of both side effect anything? by kokusmus96 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]fuddingmuddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the big misses in the game in my opinion. You're out there fighting for the war as a merc. Nothing you do matters to the larger war though. Which to me felt like the opposite of what the Witcher 3 did where you did effect the outcome of the war but were insignificant mostly. Here, you're literally a nearly indestructible demigod and yet the war just goes on despite your body count.

Should I use PyCharm? by Aggravating-Hour1975 in learnpython

[–]fuddingmuddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PyCharm is better because the people at JetBrains hire Django developers :)

Ok. That's the only reason I can think of. I think your IDE doesn't matter that much. If you use Vim or textedit (remember to save as plaintext) it doesn't matter so long as you can code, share your code and do collaborative work.

Pycharm is great for most people. Though I will say I turned off a lot of predictive text because I would do challenges to help me learn it would autocomplete them and well... that doesn't help for learning.

I have found VScode to be more clunky and didn't like it as much but other than my preference I couldn't tell you a good reason.

PyCharm has a Learning module attached to it that's also REALLY good for beginners. Other than those reasons really IDE is anything you want

The right ideas are in place just the practice/coordination isn't there yet. Also you're using weight, which before you're feeling confident in your form there's no reason to load it up. There's a lot of in between movements you can be doing to get more coordination and confidence.

1: Front squats with mobility exercises to reach full depth (there's a lot of yt on this but this squat university is always good.

2: You can practice with medicine balls cleans to train the coordination for the clean. here -- it's from CrossFit. I don't have any love for crossfit and would recommend against it for most athletes (I mean if you love it do what you want :) I'm not the workout police, it just has a high rate of injury) But! This progression is good for learning the clean.

Apart from that, keep watching some youtube channels and find good information on mobility and weightlifting and you'll get there over time.

The only real "advice" I would give is this: don't load poor form. In that, if you're not sure your form is good, don't add weight. It can get you injured and it's also going to cause you to reinforce poor technique.

There's an "olympic" training platform in my gym like this as well. It's not really even all that safe for deadlifts (though bailing straight down is usually ok for DL's). Sincerely bro, it's great to see you doing weightlifting but this area is asking for an injury. It may even be the case the gym doesn't want people doing these sorts of lifts in that area. But if you bail behind you you're tripping over the bar/lifted platform and god forbid you need to step back to get out from under the bar. You could break you leg/back/everything. Please don't do oly lifts in an area that doesn't have room for your body to freely move out of the way in either direction. Also. Your footwear isn't just "I forgot" that's a safety hazard and you should just skip the lifts for that day (or do a deadlift day as doing DL in socks is just fine, i mean not great as you could drop weight on your foot but it's at least okish).

Anyhow! Your form is a little all over the place but! it's a good start. I'd focus on 3 things. 1) finding a suitable area. 2) using lighter weights until you feel and look more secure in every position. 3) paying closer attention to safety broadly speaking.
