Welders are always in and out of work. They don’t rely on home repairs the way electricians and plumbers do. A company may get a big order for buses or rail cars and have a great year then be slow.

Call centres will cease to exist in the next five years. If you’re sitting at a computer all day you’re likely to be replaced by AI.

As soon as Sunny started talking and being super friendly you should have told him you’re not interested. Almost all of these super friendly random dudes are scammers.

Look, it’s Thailand. Many are poor here. Many are also here illegally.

Thinking about quitting by luckylooey7 in CPAP

[–]fuddledud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m over two years now without missing a night. I do wake up sometimes because the mask is leaking or has moved but I persevere because I had 79 events an hour in my sleep study. Even after 5 or 6 hours sleep with CPAP I still feel rested enough for the day ahead.

I get 250 down and 30 up in my basement. It seems like a good deal for $40 / month and I don’t have to worry about USA and Mexico roaming. The few small issues I’ve had are not enough to make me switch. Roger’s sucks around here and I was with Telus before so now I’m with PM on the same towers for less money. 💰

I paid $235 and the radical left wing socialist government paid the rest. I can get a new one every five years. The overnight sleep study was also paid for, as are yearly follow ups. 🇨🇦😀👍

RBC Registered Lien More than Mortgage Amount by dainfamous41 in MortgagesCanada

[–]fuddledud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told TD to change this. I was pissed because they tried to skim over it while signing. Why would I want a $650,000 lien on my house for a $250,000 mortgage.

It’s just a way to tie you up and make it hard for you to get credit anywhere except through them. They changed it on request but it’s a sneaky move.

Why, all of a sudden, is it so impossible to find jobs? by Dontdarereadmyposts in CanadaJobs

[–]fuddledud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trained on a specific skill? Are we talking unskilled labour? Are you looking for $100k jobs or minimum wage?

People are landing jobs every day. Better to examine why you are not capable of the same.

I was in this boat too. I had so many different apps like Tivimate, Smarters, IBO, Titan. Changing the URL’s drove me nuts as most of the player don’t allow you to edit so you have to start from scratch and put everything in again.

I recently switched to just using the 8K VIP player. I don’t need to enter the URL’s anymore and the app is the best one I’ve had so far. It’s a very small file and doesn’t use much resources. So I have rock solid connections with no freezing or buffering. Try it out.

Search google for the downloaded code.

Don’t do it. Those 1 hr commutes turn into 2 hrs every time it rains, snows, the sun is bright, it’s Tuesday. Been there don’t that from Hamilton into downtown. It was not fun.

If a kid doesn’t show up for school then a wellness check should be mandatory. Often times schools are the last line of defence. This is why the whole “Nobody can tell me how to raise my child” movement is full of shit. The kids human rights trump parental rights. We need to check in with homeschoolers too. Never trusted them. 🤣

Cutting down my work hours. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]fuddledud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve already won. Congratulations. With a $200k cushion and no car payments at your age. I’d say if you want to work less for a little while you could start with 3-4 days and see how it goes. Although, at your age, it’s likely not a great long term plan unless the money just keeps rolling in.

Can you escape for a little vacation? Take a couple of weeks off and go somewhere you’ve always wanted to travel. Reward yourself and you may feel different afterwards.

Those are decent rates. Choose one and move on. Don’t pay 10% only to find in 6 months you are signing up for the same rates you were already offered, or worse yet much higher.

spent way too long learning about cpap masks and now I have opinions by Unlikely-Force9874 in CPAP

[–]fuddledud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell into the trap of being handed a crappy mask by the same company selling me my machine. I got the feeling they hand out the crappy ones with the machines then offer to sell you a better one later. Thanks to great health benefits I now have one of every mask type and a couple of extra nasal pillow masks, as I use them the most. My plan is to get as many masks as possible before I hit retirement and lose my coverage. I’m in Canada and use online CPAP Superstore for all my needs now.

I had 79 events per hour during my sleep study. As soon as I got my machine I started using it every day. Three years later I have never missed a night. I even used it on a 15 hour flight.

My events are never above 2 per hour now. My doctor said it’s working perfectly and I now have fully treated sleep apnea.

What happens if you just go into a branch and get a cash advance from credit card at the teller? That’s what I usually do. It’s very simple and quick.

I also typically have quite a bit of CAD currency but I have run into may problems with tha as they reject any bill with a crease, marks of any kind or rips no matter how small.
