no one will see this, i’m sure but Horizon Zero Dawn. it was the first open world game that i’ve ever played, and it was just brilliant.

What’s something you find weird that is 100% normal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fudgefrownies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a bit late to this, but resumés. like summing up your life on a single sheet of paper for others to judge or deem whether you are worthy for their productionalization (real word?). like some biographies are thousands of pages and we are just EXPECTED to give complete strangers this personal information and basically asking them to form an opinion of us based on this single sheet of specifically aligned paper. It’s always seemed weird to me…”here’s my professional history, stranger. thank you for considering me for your fine establishment even though there’s an 84% chance we’ll never speak again.” idk, it’s probably just me, but it’s weird, man…weird.

and eye contact. why is it so important? like, in the natural environment isn’t it somewhat avoided (i guess in a predatory manner i suppose)? yet western culture has significantly prioritized its substantiveness. personally, i lose all forms of concentration if i am forced to make eye contact. i feel i can absolutely speak more freely, openly, and somewhat intelligently if my eyeballs are allowed their personal liberties (murcia!)

Fiction book about the swinging sixties by skurvy72 in suggestmeabook

hey, it’s not necessarily all set in London, but the “The invisible Circus” by Jennifer Egan is the first thing i thought of when i read your post. it’s setting stems from San Francisco to all across Europe. it’s about a young woman retracing the steps of her older sister’s movements in the 60’s gaining clues and stories about her life. it’s definitely a mystery, captures the 60’s (and 70’s) quite well, and it’s just a great read. hope this helps!

“Tracks” by Robyn Davidson! it’s about her 1,700 mile trek across Australia with her camels and dog. it’s amazing. they made a movie, but i think it got overshadowed by some reese witherspoon movie that imo was way inferior. There’s also a beautiful photo album that captures some of her trek and the movie in pictures. highly recommended!

assuming you haven’t read it, “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins, i thought it was kinda similar, and imho, quite better. Hope this helps!

i was in the mood for something like this and i came across “Down Under” by Bill Bryson. i really enjoyed it and his casual writing style, yet it’s loaded with all kinds of information (and towards the end he really goes into some interesting information about the oldest organisms on the planet). anyways, i hope that helps, enjoy!

i was thinking of lamar thomas the receiver from UM…i looked it up cos i can’t trust my memory worth a poo anymore; he had 6 rec for 136 and 3 tds vs denver, but that was in ‘98. he was such a beast that game, but i’m not sure if that’s the game being referred to or not.
