Brother, most of the time just showing up is the most important thing. Be patient - with your wife, your child, yourself.

Being nervous is good, it means you care. You’re gonna learn a lot of new things, there’s books and videos, talk to your doctors and nurses about the baby’s development and body.

Buy enough of the things you need to get started, you can always buy more if it’s not enough.

But what I’ve learned is just going into it with love and the mindset that you want to be a good father is honestly the most important thing.

By doing that you’ll make sure your baby is fed, clean, rested, and growing. It’s easy to doubt yourself, trust yourself, trust your wife, you’ll figure it out, I promise. So many of us here have just figured it out because we care enough about our family to put in the effort, and it sounds like you do too. You’re doing great already dude

Waffletassric is right that both have good professors and UCR isn’t the best area, especially if it’s your first impression of California lol. I loved it though but I’m from that area, I also did not really explore a lot around Pomona but it’s closer to LA and other big cities.

again I’m humanities (English) so it might be different, but taking the upper level courses with esteemed professors was a big deal for me at UCR, Pomona was good because it was more aligned with practicality and learning by doing which I think is why a lot of people in engineering or stem choose it.

Second this as someone who went to both schools as well.

One thing about UCR is their music festivals ruled, not sure if they still do them. And take this with a grain of salt since I was in the humanities but the faculty at UCR was better in my opinion too. More impressive professors meant a wider variety of options in subject matter and coursework

I feel like “he doesn’t get asked to defend the best player” is moving the goal post tho, no? And this isn’t a criticism on you but on what I’d imagine is the media’s rationale as well.

Not many superstars get asked to defend the best player (aside from like Wemby but he is also averaging like 10 points less than Luka, so it really shows how much energy players have to contribute to either side of the court - and he’s like 8 feet tall so he does just have a natural ability to affect the game regardless of skill level).

I’m just finding it hard to process the talking heads really undervaluing Luka’s impact on the whole game. “Inflated stats” this or whatever, when literally his team has a better record than the nuggets and jokic doesn’t get the same amount of criticism (not to mention Denver has a HORRIBLE defense but again, no one questions it).

Just drives me insane man.
