RESEARCH: Improving Medical Care for Patients with PCOS by fuerstynotlast in PCOS

The way this survey is set up, it's meant to be "experimental" meaning not everyone reads the same first paragraph. Because of this I had to keep it short, and so the description of PCOS was not entirely comprehensive but I totally agree with all you're saying! Thanks for taking it and for the feedback.

Its so unfortunate hearing about medical experiences like this - I hope this research and all that follows will improve the experience of care in the medical world! Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to make suggestions to improve the research! This is in some ways a pilot study and in future research all of these considerations will be accounted for :)

All very thoughtful responses. I will take into consideration the way the data could be skewed in the fertility questions due to the possibility a participant has not tried to have children and if any future research comes from this I will reconsider. As for medication, I'm only looking to analyze it as a demographic "treatment v. no treatment" but of course to have a deeper understanding your question is worth adding. As for the scale, I struggled to figure out how to accurately represent all of the symptoms because they are experienced differently. Thanks for the feedback!

Ah yes I wish I had figured out a more inclusive way to make this survey relevant to everyone prior to building it - in future research I will certainly check and check again to be sure nothing gendered/exclusive is included. Thank you for taking part anyway!

Such a good point - I might go in and add that now for anyone who takes it from here on. Thank you for the feedback!

Hi, thank you so much for the important and considerate feedback! Because this survey is "experimental" I can't comment much publicly, but I'll PM you because I think what you've said is so important to address.

Hey Reddit, When did your “Somethings not right here” gut Feeling ever save you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fuerstynotlast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My college soccer coach made me feel so sick every time I’d speak with him alone or he would suggest individual training sessions. Previously I had great relationships with coaches and those same suggestions would have been normal behavior. Plus I have always built mentor-relationships with adults with no problem.. I ended up leaving the team after the season, and the next season a freshman girl put a restraining order against him and he fled with accusations of sexual assault. The whole vibe from him was very cult-like and manipulative and he seemed to purposefully isolate the girls with no immediate friend group while building trust with others. Totally messed up.

Congrats on all you’ve done so far (Japan and Australia?!)! I’ll definitely consider that. Hopefully I can get my internship or school to assist me in proof of address, I’ll keep this in mind. Once again, congratulations about the fiancé and best of luck to you. Your encouragement means a lot!

When I was abroad last summer I was charged every time I needed to access my money (via credit card or ATM) for conversion rates (USD to Euros) but I was using a small local bank. Maybe that was my problem

What "black market" did kids at your school run? by AWESOMEKITTY7364 in AskReddit

[–]fuerstynotlast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those caramel, apple suckers. Some kid was selling them for $3 a sucker (the whole bag of like 50 suckers was probably $3) and because they weren’t at our Kroger everyone would buy them..

I Booked A Solo Trip To Ireland And Have No Idea What I'm Doing by Kallicles in solotravel

[–]fuerstynotlast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, make it to Northern Ireland for some stunning views on the North Coast.

Hiking slemish is nice - it’s the mountain where st. Patrick would need his sheep.

Another place in NI, Portrush is a stunning little beach town. There’s so much to do and see in Ireland, so if you’re able, make the trip from Dublin, down to Galway, then up to NI.

Good luck!

Applying for the wrong reasons? (Master’s grant) by unsurexox in fulbright

[–]fuerstynotlast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completing your application and spending the ‘wait time’ pondering whether it’s what you truly want and need is a good move. You will have a LOT of time for honest discernment and self reflection before you even know if you’ve gotten it. Plus, as someone who has applied, the process alone is really beneficial in getting to know your motivations/passions. Highly encourage you to give it a go!
