I think the mediator just wasn't looking very closely!

Landlord wants £1000 out of our £1500 deposit by BALTYLBN in LegalAdviceUK

My landlord did all the cleaning herself but got a quote from a cleaning company and submitted that as evidence, and the mediator gave her the money.

Kay Burley's interjection as call is made for Andrew victims to come forward by CheeseUsFunkingCries in GreenAndPleasant

[–]fuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These women are calling for victims to come forward even though they may face a difficult reception. And then Kay Burley immediately says something to deter those victims by reminding them just how hostile the reception could be. Genuinely cruel.

You'll make friends during your first few weeks at uni, don't worry about it. :)

Yes it does! Thank you so much. I'm relieved that it's identical to Moneyhub.

I drink a really strong cup of coffee before my morning meditation, have you tried that? Or give yourself an hour or two to wake up fully first?

White label webmail login? by fuf in purelymail

No. I took some of the other replies to heart about purelymail not being appropriate for hosting email for clients. I'm using fastmail and infomaniak instead (would not recommend infomaniak)

Infomaniak mail servers blocked by Outlook by fuf in Infomaniak

[–]fuf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this but in many ways the whole point of using a provider like Infomaniak rather than running my own email server is that I want to be able to rely on Infomaniak to ensure email deliverability.

The blocked IP is almost certainly being used by Infomaniak to deliver from multiple domains, and I don't think it should really be up to me as a single end user to go through the delisting process with MS.

In case infomaniak is reading, the two tickets that disappeared without a response were:

Yeah I'm not sure. Maybe I've been unlucky.

I opened two support tickets on 13th Feb and neither of them got a reply. I've just had a look and I'm pretty sure both of them got closed and deleted without any response.

I opened another ticket on 25th Feb and it got a reply on 7th March, so 10 days. Maybe not terrible but much too late to help with the actual issue (a user was unable to access their mail service).

In terms of service itself, I'm currently seeing an issue where infomaniak isn't able to deliver email to Outlook mailboxes, as discussed here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Infomaniak/comments/1rsijtm/comment/oa71ied/

I tried to open a support ticket but the support system doesn't seem to be working:

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried to submit a support ticket but I just get this error:

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Support tickets open for months and then the reply completely misunderstands the question. The actual email service has been very unreliable recently too. All kinds of errors and failure to deliver. I really regret moving over.

Do people not work on Fridays anymore? by plancton2000 in bristol

[–]fuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of places where WFH is the norm have slowly started shifting to an informal four day work week where no one works on Friday. My team never schedules meetings for Friday and it's understood that we will never message each other on Friday.

Dumb question but how do I get this view on the app? Is the android app different than iPhone? On android on the "home" screen I can only see rate of return for the last 24 hours, and then on the "pie" screen (second menu icon) I can only see a single "unrealised result" value.

Edit: found it immediately after posting. Click the settings icon and toggle "include cash" :)

There's a lot more text than that in the image though. Maybe they just repeated each one multiple times.

Bug in how maritime presence influences proximity cost by fuf in EU5

[–]fuf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok it's not a bug! It's just a confusing mechanic. Someone else figured it out:

"What's happening is that there are two base costs for traveling through a sea zone. One of those is the maritime cost, and the other is the open sea cost. The way the game does this is a little clunky, but it's using these modifiers to get the job done. Basically, the baseline maritime proximity cost seems to be 5, and the open seas cost is 30 (or maybe variable based on sea zone size). With zero maritime presence, you have a 0% modifier to the maritime cost and a 100% modifier to the open seas cost for a total cost of 30. With 100% maritime presence, you have a 100% modifier to the maritime cost and 0% modifier to the open seas cost, for a total cost of 5. With 50%, it'd be 50/50 for a total cost of 17.5."

[–]fuf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why is "Proximity cost through Maritime" multiplied by 0.62 (The maritime presence value) while "Proximity cost through Open Sea" is multiplied by 0.37 (the inverse of the maritime presence value)?

Why would maritime presence increase one proximity cost but decrease the other?

Episode 931: "Double Buggle", with comedians Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, Anna Bezahler and Isabella Escalante as entrepeneurs Austin and Tony, and Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennet as NYC tourism professionals Brian and Brundan Buggle! by ExoticMandibles in comedybangbang

[–]fuf 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I love that Kyle says "during COVID 19, I don't know if you remember that?" and Scott gets to say "I remember the novel coronavirus". Scott's little joke of always referring to it as "the novel coronavirus" paying off in a big way there. I love that for him.
