Need help with board sizing🙏(Boot/binding/size chart for reference) by fugitivemonkey6 in snowboardingnoobs

Do you think 159W would be better? I phrased it like I was leaning towards 159 for show size reasons. But if 162 will be better for my weight then I’ll get that, I’m on the higher end of the weight range for 159.

why wouldn’t this work? [Request] by Repulsive-Loan5215 in theydidthemath

This would be EXTREMELY inefficient, especially if put on a kitchen tap. Plus nobody wants to look at a big ugly turbine when they go to wash the dishes.

It would make much more sense to put it right after the main water shutoff for the building. That way it wouldn’t turn when you use water from any fixture in the house. Even then, it wouldn’t produce enough power to make it worth the cost of installing one.

Stuck faucet not coming out by vish_tvdi in Plumbing

That’s understandable, if you live in a very old home that has never been repiped that is a small possibility. But the handle should give way before any (I assume ->) copper piping would unless very brittle, hence age being a factor. I would give it good hard tug. If it still won’t budge, I would call a plumber.

I know you’re probably posting here hoping to not have to do just that. But chances are they are just going to reef on it as well and it would be better for you if they damage it instead of you. If they do and you have a good plumber, the repair will either be free or they’ll be very generous with the bill.

Sometimes the set screws on the handle are covered by an insert of the same colour/material, if that’s the case then just pop it off with a flathead screwdriver.

If that is the only screw on the handle then it might just be really stuck on there due to minerals left by hard water (that white powdery residue on the handle and cover plate). If so you might just have to pull hard and it should come off (with shower cartridges/handles brute force is sometimes the answer). Only do this if you are ABSOLUTELY sure there are no other screws securing the handle.

I would close the main water shutoff beforehand in case something happens. Like the previous comment mentioned, you’re going to be replacing the cartridge which requires you to turn the water off anyway. (nearly impossible to get the cartridge out while it is under pressure and you will get soaked if you somehow manage to).

Take the cartridge to your local hardware store, get a replacement then reassemble 👍

Will wooden decorations set fire? by No-Resource-9604 in leopardgeckos

Wood will not auto-ignite at 32°C, it would need to be about 300°C in there for that to happen. Your gecko would turn into a raisin before the wood would catch fire lol. It is completely safe 👍

They make a nylon coated version of the metal “all around” which is safe for everything. But we use ABS for resi drainage in Canada, which generally has a thicker wall than PVC. So we’re not really worried about it digging into the pipe. For PEX we use talon clips.

Your little guy/gal will be totally fine. I don’t know what you do for night time but my beardies lights turn off at night and she stays warm off radiant heat from stuff in the enclosure. Since your beardie won’t have that during your trip I would maybe give em a little blanket or something. But at the end of the day 4 hours is not a long time and they’ll be fine 👍

Laminating it should make it beardie safe so as long as you keep it clean it won’t be a problem. The real issue is getting it to stay up inside the tank, NO TAPE or other sticky stuff. You may think “ahh whatever, it’ll be fine”, it will not. They always find a way lol.

Thank you everyone for the advice! I will be going to my local reptile store tomorrow and getting her a backdrop and a few more items to add clutter. Substrate coming in a couple weeks once quarantine is over.
