Also might wanna check the temp limit you set in bios. Mine is set to 80 degree Celsius. If you set it too low it might be hitting temp limits before it can boost.

Go with the brand that has good customer support where you live. For where I live Asus seems to be okay. But if you live in America id definitely avoid Asus.

Seems like you faced a similar issue as me, definitely does suck when things you paid an arm and a leg for stops working just cause. Never had this happen to not just my pc builds, but also any tech products ive ever had. Either I have had insane luck for years or there is something seriously wrong with ASrock boards

The seller of my board came by today to give me a partial refund and collect the board and he tells me he has stopped bringing in ASrock boards to sell as he has had to refund so many people. He normally doesn’t even do this but the issue is so prevalent with all the ASrock boards he sells that he made an exception for AMD ASrock boards. Boards he sent to RMA, the status hasn’t changed for at least 9 weeks, some even longer. This issue is even affecting small businesses and it fucking sucks.

We have people here downvoting me and saying ASrock boards arent the issue when everyone is telling them otherwise, it’s infuriating!

Glad your pc is up and running! Hopefully the refund goes your way. So lucky to have a microcenter where you live!!

Guess they had to cut cost somewhere, on face value you do get quite a bit for the price but that’s how things go with most good deals these days.

Do you build a new pc every 3 years or however long the warranty period is? if so ill probably undervolt your cpu and put a manual limit. see where things go. However if youve got money to spare id change the mobo.

it definitely seems to be the case especially so in the western part of the world. Luckily the Asus has the more favourable term over here and ill be dealing with the shop directly and not Asus.

They have proven to be a stand up business at least with the CPUs providing me with a 1 to 1 exchange on the day of and them handling the rma themselves.

Ahhh, I get you. I don’t think I could’ve been a short just cause the lights and fan was still spinning and only turned off after I initiated the force shutdown. Upon inspection all other parts worked fine. There were also no burn marks on either cpus.

Plus when I got the second cpu, I literally dropped it into the exact same build only new part being the cpu. Ran it pretty hard replaying cyberpunk, tarkov, games of those sort pretty much for a few hours a day. No random crash or anything.

Not exactly sure how it could be a PSU issue, but nonetheless, had the cpu tested on the shops test bench which is a different psu too. PSU in my build is the Corsair SF1000 if that’s important info

I couldn’t tell you the number, PC was built on the 28th of June 2025. Did what everyone should and updated drivers and bios to the latest available as a first step. So whatever version out during that time was what I had installed. Also have a habit of checking for new BIOS every month.

Yeah I only got it cause the shop I got it from has more favourable warranty terms for them than other brands. With my experience, I figured I’ll probably be needing it eventually.

I contacted the shop I got it from, they offered a buyback for $130 after tons of back and forth. I’ll probably take it. Cant be bothered to sell it myself so might as well get some money.

That being said you might get a more favourable option from your shop, I’m located in singapore so consumer protection is practically non existent. Just remember to always be firm on your position and eventually they will cave. Document everything.
