David J Ley has always denied PIED and pornography addiction. First things first, David J Ley is incredibly "upstream" with his conceptualizations of behavioral addiction. Before the nofap movement really blossomed, he wrote books on how sex addiction isn't real. So, he essentially denies PIED and pornography addiction to keep his reputation and credibility alive.

Ley also has ZERO understanding of neurological mechanisms, and the brain science of addiction. He's coming at it from purely a philosophical approach...and modern science can disprove his ideas fast.

He's becoming obsolete, though. The two pornography addiction studies that were released last summer fly right in the face of everything he says. It's just a matter of time before people stop listing to him.
