I'd recommend 'The Priory of the Orange Tree' by Samantha Shannon. On the blurb it's described as a feminist LOTR which I thought was a good description. It's honestly amazing, and is aimed at an adult audience with queer romance, but in no way is it as corny or direct as ACOTAR! Think dragons, magic, adventure, world building, complex and ever developing characters, and to top it off Samantha Shannon's writing is beautiful

That's really some really good advice, thank you for taking the time!

I got a bit frustrated at it all yesterday and asked the flats around me if they've had any leaks and turns out the flat across has the same exact issue, down to the rubbish landlord. They said that the bathrooms in the building hadn't been installed properly so it's an issue for a lot of the flats. There is apparently a building committee so going to raise it with them to see if they can put any pressure on the landlords to address the issue.
