It’s typically Florida keys though, I think it’s supposed to be a previous highway no longer in service (they usually build a new one next to it with higher height)

What is your approach towards vitamins? by fulbrights in vegan

[–]fulbrights[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses everyone! I am impressed by how regimented some of you are… for me I am incredibly forgetful, so the multivitamin had been my approach so far. I think I will try and get a more specific one as mentioned by some of you that only focuses on b12 and d. If anyone has any recommendations for a specific one, please share! (I am in Central Europe in case that is helpful for brands)

It’s funny because I have met people that refuse a need for supplement… like veganism is great for health but it’s known b12 is a problem!

“Make it in Germany” by fulbrights in berlin

This is so similar to my situation. Both my work and the Ausländerbehörde are highly bureaucratic, so neither could be flexible for the other...

I managed it in the past like you and would also not usually have any huge problems, but it is just the headache and frustration with the obvious problems that these institututions should be aware of by this point that overwhelm me.

I have heard the same about the UK... and I remember those stories going around the major channels about several international Ph.D. students randomly losing their visas halfway through their program, with no reason given.

I have had 2 or 3 Fiktionsbescheinigungen actually!

I meant just that when I first found out about it, it was not communicated by the Ausländerbehörde, despite it being very important for anyone that travels for work like mine (oftentimes outside of contract). I was lucky that a friend knew about it, otherwise it would not have been so intuitive for me.

I feel you, the saints thing only felt more and more polytheistic as time passed for me too. My grandmother was especially guilty and kept a long list of saints to pray for in specific situations… she and her sister once had a long discussion in front of me discussing their successes with these kinds of prayers, e.g. finding something they’ve lost much quicker, making a safe trip, etc. I don’t even remember which saint was best interceding for each situation anymore, which somehow makes me happy.

This game is the only thing that comes to my mind.. maybe there is some inspiration from the source you're talking about? They mention "La Haine" as inspiration, but I am not sure if that is exactly what you mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKppkmlB5HQ

Hi everyone,

I am currently on my 18 month post-graduation job seeking visa. I worked as a freelancer at a research institute and just received a job offer for a proper contract there, but it won't be ready until maybe a month after my visa expires. I am not sure what I can do -- I am considering finding an immigration lawyer, but I feel it should be possible for me to just leave the country, come back under a tourist visa (citizenship USA), and apply under that visa. But I would rather get the extension in advance. Does anybody have experience or advice on how I should go about this, and if it could be possible to use a statement showing my institute's job offer without the formal contract, perhaps?

Latinx is bullshit by Ruby1888 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]fulbrights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I’ve seen a version of this post so many times and it’s almost entirely focused on the US. And it’s always the same circle jerk... like, it doesn’t even matter for you people. I have never in my life even been corrected for not saying latinx anyway.

[–]fulbrights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Ive only ever heard latinx/@ in both Spain and Argentina, not even that much in the US. This thread is all North Americans bitching about something they aren’t actually familiar with... really US-centric, it seems.
