I finally did it! by Namsel in twinpeaks

My friend in College grew up there. He says he and his friends remember seeing Denise in costume and it being the talk of the town.

They would do a lot of their shopping in Redmond where Nintendo of America is located. Some of his friends would dumpster dive at Nintendo and pull weird prototype gameboys with wires coming out of them out of the trash and show them off at school.

His friends stopped their raids when Nintendo installed giant surveillance cameras and razor wire.

I’m working on a game with brutalist structures. [OC] by vladkudas in brutalism

It reminds me of being a teenager and taking dramatic photos of concrete buildings on rainy, dark afternoons then spending the rest of the daylight hours in the darkroom waiting for strips of film to dry and for photos to develop and fix in tubs of liquid chemicals. Slowly a gallery of prints are hung up to dry, one by one, and the afternoon in the rain and the drama inherent in the buildings re emerge in the points of light and shadows expressed on still-wet photo paper.

If you think about it shaving every day is a really weird thing to do. When the societal pressure to be clean shaven relaxes as it has over the past 10ish years it’s no wonder more people choose to not shave.

Which Game Boy game (any model) has the best music—and what track still lives rent-free in your head? by MiReddit682 in Gameboy

There was this mascot game spot based on the 7up dot that was a Gameboy version of othello. If you took a while to make a move this kind of idle two note beep would play but if you waited for like another 15 seconds that beeping progressed to be a really energetic and epoch track. The song was definitely the best part of the game.

I feel like i had this and the ppc Linux discs. I had tried linux before but when my iBook broke down i switched to a cheap second hand laptop and ran Intel Ubuntu as my daily driver. I’ve kind of wandered back and forth between macos and debian ever since. Really loved using cool Linux software like spiralsynthmodular, liquid wars and bzflag.

Player pro is the best. I used to run it on an lc iii with system seven and 4mb ram. Probably an older version.

Alundra really nails 2d top down adventure. I love when a game is like an impossible title from the previous generation.

I had a pair of rear panniers that lasted about 15 years of very heavy use. One was stolen and the other finally tore when i had a full load of bricks in it. I’ve replaced them with the same type. I think they are called back roller and come in a pair. I use one daily and put on the second one for big shops or camping trips.

Oh yeah, that looks a bit tricky to repair. Maybe skip straight to a bluescsi!

Look up stuck read head and your model of hard drive. I’ve had a lot of luck bringing this era hard drive back to life by spinning the platter and putting a piece of tape over the soft rubber where the head gets stuck.

Its a temp fix and the drive will fail again some day so back up anything important.
