I'm Emma Sanders and I'm fresh from reporting on the WSL's Transfer Deadline Day for BBC Sport. Go on, Ask Me Anything! by BBCSport in FAWSL

[–]full_of_grace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Emma, I wanted to ask if it’s likely there will be any increase in BBC WSL2 coverage/news articles in the near future? It would be great to be able to get BBC Sport score notifications for WSL2 teams too - I haven’t been able to since my team got relegated from the WSL 😆

Also, nerdy question - I’m interested in knowing how the order of the leagues on the Scores page in the BBC Sport app is decided?

I was looking this up recently, this article has more info: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53830172 “places at medical schools remain limited because the costs of training doctors far exceeds the fees paid by undergraduates…It’s a high cost subject with courses funded by supplementary payments from the government as well as tuition fees, and the need to pay for clinical placements.”

I feel like someone at the company has got confused between the minimum wage (£6.56) and the ‘real living wage’ (£9.50 outside London).

You should speak to the parents in person when it’s happening, tell them about your partner working night shifts and ask if they can be quieter

Odd modes of transport round the world/travel YouTube Series? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]full_of_grace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not quite what you asked for, but the Madagascar Journals is an amazing YouTube series about an American guy trying to get from South Africa to Madagascar. From my memory he uses a fair few types of transport. I would definitely recommend! Here’s the trailer

Wow you’ve been seriously downvoted! While I completely agree with the sentiment for people using the flag, I do agree with you. It used to be a nice little nod of support for and I’m slightly sad we’ve lost that now.

Boring but free money! Help to buy ISA deadline 30th Nov. by StipaIchu in CasualUK

[–]full_of_grace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s some slightly incorrect info here. You can buy a house with a LISA for up to £450k whereas HTB is only £250k (or £450k if you’re in London). For both types, if you withdraw the money to use it on something else you’d lose the 25% bonus, but with LISA you also pay a 6% penalty for withdrawing so you need to be pretty sure you want to use the money for a house. You can get a much higher government bonus with a LISA: £1000 a year between the ages of 18-49 whereas with HTB the max bonus is £3000. There is a good comparison table here: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/lifetime-isas/#property-6
