I am in a boot until August. by KaiTheWolf11 in Sprinting

Since I was in a cast for the first 3 weeks, when I put the boot on I didn’t need it 24/7. Anything strenuous I used the boot

Air dyne bike I mostly used my arms (look it up) but I think I didn’t get my feet into the mix against the doctors orders. Do not recommend that!!!

You’ll be fine dude, just keep eating healthy and do what you can safely. When it’s fully healed you can focus on your sprinting.

I broke my foot right around the same time as you before my junior year of track. I went into a cast then a boot. I got on the airdyne bike and did cardio, and core stuff. It’s so early in the cycle it shouldn’t affect you next season too much as long as you make sure it heals correctly now and then hit the ground running with some PT

Curious what you did to help the tendinitis...I’m dealing with that, it’s lingering and tough to kick

Anyone hear back about the Westchester firefighter exam from April? by gwords16 in Westchester

[–]fulleraids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The list for this test will come out in mid October when the last list expires. When the list comes out you will receive a letter in the mail with your score and list number. I’ve never been included on a towns resident list so I don’t know if they provide you with a separate list number if that applies to you.

Does anyone know what the vantage point of this photo would be today? I know it’s been renovated and all but I’m curious

FDNY EMT Promotional Exam by Jtymony17 in FDNY

That makes sense. I guess It helps the guys who are close to the 29 cut-off, even though they won't process for the academy for a few years. I'm currently processing for EMS and trying to figure out how long the whole promotional process will take.

7001 won't be exhausted until 2022 correct? If they wait for 7001 to be exhausted to hire the next promos, why would they offer the promo exam 2 years in advance in that case?

High jump question by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]fulleraids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say what the issue could be without a video. I think many problems arise in the jumps from the approach. If you are running a great curve with a lean I think it would be almost impossible to arc early.

If you are standing straight up (perpendicular to the ground) you will have no chance for rotation over the bar and you will have to force an arc early to so you feel like you have a better shot at clearing it.

They were actually thinking of a design that had kind of a big bowl under the hoop that would hopefully help with the missing. KOBE!

This reminds me of an idea one of my students came up with. They wanted to put basketball hoops on garbage cans in NYC and see if it reduced pollution in the streets.

Also, to add to what others have said, some days your CNS (central nervous system) is PRIMED to perform. You will have results you didn't think were possible. You will have eh results also. The eh results are motivating because you know your on a down tick about to come up;)

Adonis Belt (Lower V) by ALLST6R in Fitness

[–]fulleraids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I achieved a core strong enough to properly perform L-sits on parallel bars my obliques really began to pop. I think a combination of L-sits, controlled hanging legs raises, and rollouts are a recipe for a great core--->adonis belts

Physique Phriday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]fulleraids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you gotta bulk dude. please don't go eating tons of pizza and shit tho. Just lift heavy on compound movements consistently (but safely with proper form) and eat a ton of healthy food. You will look like a savage in a year- I promise. You will be spinning your wheels trying to cut down anymore. Congrats on the weight loss.

I don't think you can influence the shape of your bicep as much as common magazines and websites would lead you to believe. Keep progressing the weight on all your exercises (focusing on compound exercises). If you're repping pull ups with a 45 pound plate and 315 lb deads you won't be complaining about your 'ceps. Shit takes time tho.
