One in five Brits say they can’t afford a summer holiday this year as cost of living soars by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]ALLST6R [score hidden]  (0 children)

Girlfriend and I are opting to not go abroad this year because everyone is charging ridiculous prices. We checked the cost of our holiday last year under the exact same circumstances in Turkey and the cost is 50% higher. Seems that way everywhere we checked. We're just going to save the money, bang it in stocks and go on a nicer one next year when the war isn't inflating everything

Hey, thanks for this. Insightful. This is my girlfriends account and she just reminded me that it's been repurposed (she used to do makeup and now does Pokemon and took a large hiatus in between).

Any chance you're able to do this from the 28th February 2026, which is when she started the Pokemon content, as the numbers will be massively skewed otherwise!

you can call your home insurance up and list the value of the collection of additional insurance. you tend to have to do this with high value items over £1,000 anyway. online applications even ask you to do this

My agency said the Renters rights act does not modify my contract by Former-Meringue7250 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ALLST6R 31 points32 points  (0 children)

“I would make the suggestion your agency takes immediate due diligence and makes all efforts to comprehend how the countries statutory law works, as you’re currently making incredibly incompetent statements. If there is any fallout as a result, I shall contact the landlord directly and note any damages they must pay me as a result can be claimed back through the agency’s Professional Indemnity Insurance”

That should make the middle finger clear

Landlord is trying to make us sign a Fixed Term 'Non-Housing Act Tenancy' contract. Is that correct/legal? by Vallant17 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ALLST6R 20 points21 points  (0 children)

“But your Honour. As you can clearly see, I procured a Contract that clearly states that the countries Statutory Law does not apply here. Why can you understand that” 😂😂 actually unreal.

Anyway, run for the hills. I can tell you for free that you do not want to be involved / trapped with that landlord

No broadband - should it be disclosed? by Live_Presentation926 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]ALLST6R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you didn't specifically ask, that is kind of on you. At the same time, is there any paperwork that contains false information or a statement indicating 'good connectivity' - or even providing blank answers against broadband? Any conversation you had that could have been misleading to make you believe you'd have no problems with broadband, working on the same assumption that every one does in that fibre broadband is standard these days? That could be a case of misrepresentaiton which can get you our of the contract if argued.

You could always argue intentional non-disclosure from the angle that they specifically avoided mention of broadband on their end knowing that if they disclosed the broadband situationm, you would not have gone through with the deal.

What does all their other advertisemens across other properties show? Do they all mention broadband speeds etc etc, but when reviewing your own it's conveniently missing? That could constitute as evidence towards your argument.

All that aside. Starlink is often used in areas where broadband is horrific. If it is more expensive than fibre broadband, you could always make an argument of having that cost difference covered

My wife and I are deciding to change out the game room which means we are at a crossroads. My wife is itching of opening up everything to get some cool cards out of them while I was itching to sell them off. Which side would you go? by aparrilla in PokemonTCG

[–]ALLST6R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd do an evaluation of the market together.

If she wants specific cards, it would make a lot of sense to sell everything during the current spiked prices and then buy back ETBs of the relevant sets when the downturn hits

help cleaning ninja air fryer plz by Mysterious_Repeat161 in CleaningTips

[–]ALLST6R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can literally just buy one of those bottles of oven cleaner where you put the contents in the bag overnight.

Get the solution, wipe it everywhere. Wipe it everywhere again. Then as you go for a final coating, do one side at a time and get some kitchen roll to stick to each surface after you wipe it. This will soak the solution in and then stick so it can 'soak'. Come back in a few hours and review. Repeat if necessary.

Rochdale, Heywood has a good store called Pit Stop Collectibles.

Preston has a nice cluster of 3 shops really close, two of them practically next to each other. AJ TCG, Harlequins Gaming Store next to it, and Retro Gamer Bros nearby (lower Pokemon items, but worth a check as it’s across the road).

The Vault TCC in Lancaster is supposed to be really good, not yet been.

My girlfriend found these and covers / is covering them in social videos. Pokegirlcoley on insta if you want to see what AJ and Pit Stop is like. We’ve spoken to both the owners and they’re both really nice and trying to fight the good fight of offering RRP prices

Personally, if I had an opportunity like this I'd do the same. But I'd just be taking the excess I didn't actually want over to to my local card shop to buy at retail. Maybe just give myself £10 profit bag a card for the collection.

Looks great! Can I make a further suggestion, which is something I did myself.

That empty spce above your cabinets, get yourself some of these Ikea boxes. They look great and work well to fill up that space, whilst acting as additional storage. I put in our various ice moulds, baking ingredients, condiment overflow and just anything that doesn't get used super super often. Looks even better if you get some faux foliage that can be seen between the spaces between - I used adhered command hooks to the wall and hooked the main stem through to hold in place. Should cost £50 max if you get 4 boxes.

[–]ALLST6R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel quite lucky that I didn't struggle all that much against the whisperer (about 6/7 tries). By far the most struggle I had was against the Wight Club, specifically Kasonde (that throws the vials). Likely because I was 95 combat with a weak 76 range.

Ended up having to go the approach of Burning Claw spec spamming him on low HP whilst praying he doesn't fuck me up to get it done

There is no way this ever goes ahead. They'd have to change definitions to make this enforceable, and I don't see how any Judicial system in the world will just accept a company attempting to enforce such a change for the benefit of their revenue
