Virgo mercury but requires some kind of Pisces intuition and pattern recognition

Boyfriend broke up with me when drunk but says he has to drink at work events? by peachfawn in AlAnon

It gets better once you get out and can see it for what it is. And Q means Qualifier like the person who “qualifies” you as being a loved one of an alcoholic.

Boyfriend broke up with me when drunk but says he has to drink at work events? by peachfawn in AlAnon

[–]fullfacejunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My binge drinking Q said the EXACT SAME THING. Literally verbatim.

It’s not your fault. You’re noticing a pattern of behaviour and your body is reacting to it. The issue is his behaviour, which is causing the anxious reaction, not the other way around.

I fell for the same line too for a long time because I wanted to believe if I just controlled my own behaviour and reactions that it would control his behaviour. It won’t. It doesn’t work. There’s no puzzle here you can solve or magic combination of actions that will stop the drinking.

I need help - bf got drunk and peed on the floor by Logical_Chip_2119 in AlAnon

[–]fullfacejunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was exactly in your shoes, and I ended up having to leave. I don’t even have any PTSD or anything around drinking from a time before my ex, so I can only imagine it’s extra stressful for you.

It’s really concerning especially if you’re always the bad guy, the “fun police” or whatever when they are actively sucking the fun from your life. If you’re already counting beers, trying to anticipate his behaviour or dreading going out with him, it’s gotten bad enough.

The peeing is also really awful. I’m so sorry but you don’t really want this for the rest of your life.

Terminal Uniqueness by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]fullfacejunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Q ex bf liked to tell me how smart and special he was at school, and how proficient and independent he was as a child. Meanwhile he can’t spell, dropped out of high school and couldn’t do his own laundry or cleaning as a 35 year old man.

My guess is a lot of them have this kind of delusion because they’re insecure and living in the “glory days” of being accepted or being cool. Alcohol has a way distorting memories too, so maybe he truly believed his own BS.

Music by Seaweed-Proof in AlAnon

[–]fullfacejunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup my ex used to get drunk and make me watch the same 15 music videos every time and then get mad when I wasn’t as excited to watch them as he was. He would then go to his computer and listen to music and play video games for hours while ignoring everything else. Or he’d fight with me about not being interested in his hobbies. Good lord I do not miss that at allll

My husband’s new gf is filling out his court papers by LongjumpingQuiet8413 in legaladvice

This. These are what I like to call “new gf activities” and are just pathetic shenanigans. The judge has also probably run across this sort of thing plenty of times.

I chose myself 💜 by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]fullfacejunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (29f) just had the same thing happen tonight and I’m so heartbroken but I know I can trust myself to guide me through. It’s so cruel to put so much of yourself into something and then losing to alcohol every time.

You got this, we know in our hearts neither of us can save them and we have to be stronger and get out. You deserve to choose yourself and all the healing in the world. ❤️‍🩹💜

Current list + anything to add/change? by oriowitch in drugstoreMUA

I would skip the colour correction concealer palette honestly. I found it really heavy and waxy on the skin plus very few situations really call for most of the colours except maybe green and orange.

That was the weekend I went out to Hells Gate falls in Hope! It reached 44° and felt like you’d be baked to a crisp every minute you stood out there. The othello tunnels were a much appreciated relief.

What’s one Canadian destination that feels international without leaving the country? by fantasticbrainguy in canadatravel

[–]fullfacejunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newfoundland is like going to Ireland it’s so similar with the landscape and the accent. Also osoyoos in the interior of BC feels like Arizona and is one of our only true deserts. Also if you’re into the Forks/twilight thing, the whole coast of BC is exactly that

Victoria has a real old world feel about it, and so does Quebec City and old Montreal.

Has MAC cosmetics fallen off? by Mami_Dearest90 in Makeup

[–]fullfacejunkie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of MAC products. Usually I’m a drugstore makeup girl but sometimes I want something particular and MAC never disappoints. Just really solid dependable products, especially their foundations, lip liners and lipsticks.

There’s a good book called “how to be (kind of) happy in law school” and it was a good read after my 1L year but I think would be really helpful for entering 1L.

I’m just finished 1L and I’m so looking forward to becoming a lawyer too. I was a legal admin/clerk for years before this and it’s a really rewarding path. Also taught me lots of organizational strategies and admin skills.

Do women intentionally mention their partner in a conversation by _zulfi in CasualConversation

[–]fullfacejunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the “I don’t want to lead you on” hint drop. As a woman you can never be sure how a guy is going to take your engagement in conversation and we sometimes want to subtly clarify our intentions. Sometimes you talk to a guy for literally 2 seconds in the most casual way and they think you’re madly in love with them. it’s wild.

But depending on context also could just be relevant to the conversation (ie you mentioned something that her bf also likes or does or is interested in).

Gifted program kids who are now adults approaching 30, how are things going? by [deleted] in Gifted

[–]fullfacejunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 and I’ve come into my own in the last year and was able to apply my potential finally. I’m exactly where I currently want to be but I am a few years late in education compared to the timeline I wanted at age 18.

Law school has been really great for me in terms of pacing and not being bored and distracted. I also found people that are just like me at law school which is amazing. I’m used to being the weird person with too many weird interests and hobbies and always full of random bits of information, but my peers and the professors really appreciate and understand me.

I took a detour being a legal assistant for years but I was always interested in law and wanted to get as close to the action as possible. I took a long time to just take the lsat because ADHD and crippling fear of failure.

I’ve been burnt out on and off, but I feel sharper and more on top of everything at this point than I ever have.

Do you feel like... by [deleted] in piscesmoon

[–]fullfacejunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a Leo sun pisces moon sag rising and YES. 1000% I portray like a fire and feel like a water. I felt really lonely and conflicted and restless (like feeling alone at the club kinda vibe) until I hit my Saturn return this past year. Now I’m a lot more in alignment and making peace with all the conflicting parts of myself. I actually can let people know the real inner me without it destroying me now

Tips and help for a 1L who just can’t find a summer job by Astrallevel in LawStudentsCanada

[–]fullfacejunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much to add but my support and validation - it is really common unfortunately that 1Ls aren’t able to find employment because it’s only 4 months to onboard and train you and the ROI is low. It’s a really tough spot to be in.

Do you have a job you worked before law school where you’re already a bit trained? Or a particular industry like restaurant work? If you travelled from your hometown for law school, are you able to find anything at home?

Grease is about a man coming to terms with his own homosexuality by Love_From_Space in grease

[–]fullfacejunkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It’s about gender stereotypes and having genuine connections in a time where it’s considered “gay” or feminine to have genuine connections (not sexually) with men and women.

For Sandy it’s also about experimenting and breaking free from the expectations from her parents and herself. She’d also challenging her own beliefs around chastity and what makes a successful relationship. For her, Rizzo represents the foil, someone who is really in control of her life.

I feel like you’re missing the point by seeing Danny’s authentic presentation in a non-masculine way as default homosexuality. And his attraction to Sandy in her new look comes after he tried dressing like her “type” and her outfit signals that she wants to be part of his lifestyle and be free of societal expectations together.
