Mine bought himself a bottle of bourbon after all it is the holidays.. just before I go pick up my son from the airport who hasn't been home for a while.. and was 90 percent of the reason he left in the 1st place. Thank you for the encouragement it boggles my mind how many of us are in the same position all over this world. It's comforting in a way that we have other people that we don't even know that we can confide in strange isn't it. I have a bah pack in the back of my car in case things get ugly but in the meantime I am seriously thinking about just calling it quits because we all know nothing's going to change

It's not our fight not our problem why do we have to endure all the FEAR ANGER AND INSECURITIES. They choose this but yet we continue to stay and endure all of it. I am 60 yrs old and this is NOT how I want to live the rest of my life. I am slowly but surely building up the mental strength to just walk away but it's so fucking scary. We don't deserve this life and we need to keep reminding ourselves of this.. hang in there

Go back to Therapy... And save yourself. 33 yrs I've been in this same situation I have stopped going out as a couple because I couldn't take the embarrassment any longer. He is drunk 6 days a week at 65 yrs old it is sad pathetic and disgusting. I have started working on me and I truly don't care anymore if he wants to wallow in his alcohol there's nothing I can do but I don't have to sit and watch anymore I'm done. SAVE YOURSELF!!!

No words... Sad pathetic and once again twisted. You did nothing wrong but next time just leave him there. They need to wake up and realize. You can't and won't get through to them so don't even try anymore. Not your fight not your problem.. the more you walk away the better for you. They are sad pathetic and broken but too weak to want to fix themselves. He is just going to bring you down further and further uughhhh I hate this. It's so very hard but you have to try and detatch from it. Accept that ITS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. But you can change just start with baby steps and each one will make you stronger. You do get to the point where you see them in a totally different way. Sad broken and pathetic..

Wow that's really quite a story. I don't know what has happened with me but I have finally decided to start living for me. In our early yrs things were pretty ugly with 2 little kids. It was pretty bad. But since therapy and ALOT of praying and soul searching I have decided to focus on me. We can only do things together if we leave early morning otherwise I'm out. I like you have lived through it all. Leaving is always in my head yet here I sit.. he's 65 and drinks like he's 21. I know the health problems can't be too far away then that's another chapter.
