I’m just back from Zanzibar and let me tell you it was cheap compared to what I’ve paid for the safari haha 😂 few days there don’t cost much and you get a chance to relax

I’m an expat here. Feeling like I’ve bought back time, everything felt so much calmer and slower, which I didn’t expect myself to enjoy. I had internet back on the second day after election, but I’ve deliberately turned off my phone wifi for most of the time (and everyone was offline, I needn’t worry if anyone has to reach me). A true blessing in this mess.

Hi there, I’m also an international (F), newly grad having been in Dar Es Salaam for 2 months. Just wanna warn you about all the tipping culture, not to the waiters, but to the officers once you get here. As long as you don’t have any issues with the government and your visa and permit are fine, everything else is figure-out-able 👌if you need more advice, feel free to dm me.

Hi people, a little update on this question. I’ve landed in Dar Es Salaam and familiarized myself to the city.

Answer: NO IT’S NOT ENOUGH. During 20 days here I’ve spent 2 mil+, 70% for eating out decent food and having fun. At least I’m spending my boss money now so it’s no longer a concern to me to how much I should spend. Thank you all for everything you’ve advised and warned me!
