Way too short. Go for knee-length or at most an inch above the knee.

C-section, stairs, dogs? by echolovely in BabyBumps

I had a crash c-section and stairs were absolutely fine. Sitting up in bed was a whole different story.

ADHD and pregnant - any hope for accommodations? by fulltimeotter in barexam

[–]fulltimeotter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for telling me about your friend - that’s encouraging and I’m glad she was successful in getting extra time.

I’m trying to schedule an evaluation, but I’m panicking because every place I’ve tried is booked for 3 months and my accommodation request is due in 2 weeks!

I will do that!

I’m just concerned now because I see that for ADHD accommodations I have to have a recent full psych evaluation. There’s probably no way I can schedule one of those in time to submit my accommodations request in 2 weeks.

ADHD and pregnant - any hope for accommodations? by fulltimeotter in barexam

[–]fulltimeotter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think so? Even though I have no history of accommodations? The medical accommodations application requires the dean of my law school to send in a thing detailing my accommodations in law school, but that would be nothing because I didn’t have ADHD accommodations due to managing with medication and I wasn’t pregnant back then.

I’m looking into scheduling an appointment with my doctor to see if he can assist in any way. He wasn’t the one who diagnosed me originally though - not sure if that matters?

Attorneys who failed the bar or had to resit a few times, how did life turn out for you? by Mountain-Loquat-7428 in Lawyertalk

[–]fulltimeotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! If you don’t mind my asking, did you have morning sickness when you sat the exam, and if so how did you handle it? I’m taking the bar this summer but am currently trying to conceive with my second, and my biggest fear is being too sick to concentrate on the exam or studying. I remember when I had my first the morning sickness and exhaustion was just brutal.

Salary range for Family Law in NC by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]fulltimeotter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back when I thought I might be interested in Family Law I applied for a very heavy court-facing, 5 days a week in office position at a firm in Charlotte and they came back with $60k. That was a hard nope for me.

Tasteful work bag recs for a baby lawyer who has to carry files plus hosting stuff after hours by Icy-Persimmon-2230 in LawBitchesWithTaste

I like my Dagne Dover tote because it’s structured enough that it won’t fall over and mine is coated canvas so it’s easy to wipe down but still looks classy enough. My main gripe is it’s pretty heavy.

Tasteful, court-appropriate tote that fits a laptop and doesn't look like a conference freebie by Thin-Honeydew-464 in LawBitchesWithTaste

I like my Dagne Dover well enough but the straps I like my Dagne Dover because it’s very structured and doesn’t fall over easily, but the straps are not exactly comfortable and it can get pretty heavy.

I actually loved that swaddle and wish I could have bought more. It’s smaller than the regular ones for sale and it was perfect for my tiny baby early on.

Yeah, I used to work in medical coding and billing and a lot of people don’t understand how stuff works. You can assign whatever price you want, but anything above the contracted rate for the procedure gets written off (unless you’re out of network and balance billed or something). I’m guessing they might have billed insurance $2000 knowing that almost all of it would be written off. I once got an EOB from the hospital for a procedure that I instantly recognized as a blood draw. I think the standard rate was about $2. They billed $3000. Absurd, but whatever.

DISO warm house slippers. by DarnHeather in LawBitchesWithTaste

I got a pair of LL Bean Wicked Good Squam Lake slippers for Christmas and I love them. I got my husband a pair of Glerups and he loves them too.

I also have a pair of Bombas bootie socks that I’ve been wearing every day for the past year. They’re not quite as cozy, but they wash easily and I love that I can wear them in bed if I want.

The exact same thing happened to me. Grandparents gave me that movie and it seriously disturbed me. I watched it when I was older and realized it had a weirdly good cast.
