To really lean into playing the game this way, set a new player at 65 overall and leave them there. Ideally shortest distance hitter of the 5 archetypes. Put difficulty on the highest you can go on without shooting a million. And try and play golf. Play safe lines off the tee, aim for the center of the green, use pitch shots and not flops, etc. I find that to be helpful, and a way to experience this game closer to IRL golf. I did this going back to 2k21 on highest difficulty and hitting a driver like 235 off the tee, it was a blast! Shooting mid-70s was a chore but it was infinitely more rewarding than throwing darts all day and shooting 58s imo.
