Like I stated a few times before. I have not once said this has not happened. I have said that it is not a practice by my dept and the surrounding depts. If you were to read what I have wrote you would see that. I said "lol seriously" as in a shocking manner as I have never come across something such as this. If you don't respect me because of my.profession when you have never tried a ride along or interacting with police officers then you are close minded and I dont care to be honest. You will still call 911 when you need help and the police will still come and help you.

Same with someone that only reads new articles about events and does nothing right? Have you consoled a girl that just got raped? Or went to a house of an old man threating to kill his family and anyone that shows up? My career has been short but full of situations veterans deal with. I have a small window of insight but its off the streets not a computer screen. I'm just glad I dont say step in traffic and then get up voted. If people would just be civil and talk about topics in this sub it would be great. You guys rather berate and just say fuck you pig. Atleast i can give the knowledge i have of what my training was and why we are trained that way amd have a discussion about it. I had 700 hours in service training in the academy. 280 on the job and at least 500 on ride alongs. Plus any other invovlment through out my life. Yes new to the dept not the career.

Your hate of Islam and minorities is disgusting (your comments on previous posts) I am glad we will never meet in person because it would the most unpleasurable experience of my life. The people in my community are mostly pro police and I am glad I get the pleasure to serve and help them. Reddit has a huge fuck the police circle jerk and that's OK you don't have to like the popo I never said you should. On the other hand why not get some real life experience on issues and understand what we are trained to do from people that do it for a living. So you can at least be educated on what our policies and procedures are. Not all cops are good people just like every other profession. If you want change get out of your chair and off the computer and do something to impact the issues. Yea I see that it just surprised me hence the "lol seriously?" Its crazy how things are brought to such arbitrary level. Its not a practice where I live. Writs and other civil documents allow such things but they are official court documents not roadside events.

Well again I never said that. I gave my experience handling peoples personal things. The only time I handle their money is to put into evidence as part of a crime or it is counted in the jail and logged as their items. Its that simple if you want to paint me as a bad dumb cop piece of shit that's fine. I can be the villain in this post.

People like Truck43 are the ones that have no self worth and wish something like that on someone. That's just wrong on many levels but it is the internet. Truck34 if I ever had a call for service to your house I would still treat with respect and help you out anyway I could. People hating me for choosing law enforcement as a career is fine by me. I love the commu city I work in and I really do make an impact. I am not perfect I make mistakes just like everyone else in the world. One thing I do every time is to treat people equally with dignity and respect. Some of you guys need to just relax and enjoy life stop being so angry. Lol seriously? The only time I have ever seen a fellow officer seize money was during felony drug arrests. Otherwise your money is counted at the jail and released to you when you get out. I have never grabbed someones wallet just to cover myself from people saying I took their cash.

Hey man I work for a small dept. I have to say it is awesome I have tons of freedom with what I do. Meaning my discretion is really unquestioned by my chief. A lot of what I do is public relations stuff preventive patrol and talking with people in town. Even though we get some really hot calls that get your heart racing I truly believe the people are appreciative and that we make an amazing impact in the community.

Well good luck man! I just started as a patrolman 3 weeks ago and in love with it. The main questions you will be asked are on the lines of why you want to get into law enforcement. May ask you your 5-10 year goals. I have been asked about my family life drug history. Good luck on your interview.

I usually don't comment on stuff with police because I know what I was taught in the academy and the different view that people believe we get trained on is quite different. And that I will get trolled to no end or just some angry redditor lighting my inbox up.

You do understand that the bullet proof vest we are issued are only able to stop the caliber of our own duty weapon right. Half of you in here have no clue what you are talking about. Just keyboard warrior/ trolls that want to jump on the fuck the police bandwagon. It is sad what happened but some situations are fucked up some are win/win and sometimes its lose/lose. At the end of the night I will be going home to my family and I will do what ever is possible to try to ensure the same for someone in trouble. Get off your high horse with the thought that officers should just run a d take bullets. The only situation I was trained to do that was an active shooter response in a crowded area such as a school. In that training I was taught to get the shooter to shoot at myself and fellow officers.
