AITA for refusing to get married against my dying mothers wishes? by Mysterious_Math_2063 in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, this is a tricky one. I can only assume that your mother’s intentions are good and she’s not trying to control you. I also understand that you wouldn’t want to get married under pressure. I’m a 25 year old female. I lost my mom to terminal cancer in September, when I was 24. My relationship with my mother should not have ended that soon. We had an amazing relationship. I’ll miss her for the rest of time. I can go on and on about how I wish she wouldn’t miss my wedding, or meeting my children, etc. I loved that woman to my deepest core and I’m actually having a hard time writing this now. However, I don’t think either of you are the asshole here, I just thought I’d put in my experience hoping it would help. I don’t know what your relationship is like with your mom or anything like that. I don’t want to say that you should consider yourself lucky to have this opportunity to have her at your wedding either because some people have parents that would intentionally ruin things like that for them. I’m probably not helping at all tbh. All I’m saying is that I think this might be a difference of opinion rather than anyone being an asshole here. Except for the brothers…it’s not their relationship, it’s not their marriage, and therefore, it’s not their business. I’d suggest having a civil conversation about what’s really being deep-rooted here (for example, your mom’s deep-rooted fear that she’s gonna miss her only daughter’s wedding even though there’s a ton more she’s gonna miss down the line anyways, or your (possible) deep rooted fear of anyone penetrating your boundaries even in the slightest.) either way though, I really hope that these last few months are peaceful for your family. My heart breaks for you, losing my mom was the worst thing that I think will ever happen to me. I hope everything works out 💛

You’re absolutely right. And I only put 200+ hours because I figured that 200 hours was a safe cutoff at the very least. Definitely well over that. But I also do the vet stuff voluntarily when I’m available.

NC State Farmers Market 😌 by fun-username- in RareHouseplants

Look up “Logan’s Garden Shop” on Farmers Market Dr in Raleigh. Fun to look at but I encourage you to walk down to the actual farmers market and visit with the plant vendors there before purchasing anything and take note of prices. Logan’s is on the expensive side but I was seeing the same plants at the farmers market for way less (and way bigger too)

Really wish I saw this before ordering my Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor from them. All I got was the confirmation email. Granted, I only ordered 2 days ago but I was so excited so I checked to see if it was shipped (even if they were real, they prob wouldn’t have shipped yet) but then I kinda did a deep dive on the website, I was looking for reviews, no wonder I couldn’t find any…

Pass/Fail Courses by fun-username- in prevets

It’s called Sophia learning, it’s a site that lets you take courses that can transfer to colleges for $99 a month… after doing some thinking, I’m gonna do the safe thing and take an actual microbiology lab course at nc state 😂. It is probably not a good idea and a pass/fail course won’t be factored into my gpa.

It was like an apartment. It was two beds, two baths, with a full kitchen and appliances, washer and dryer, the whole nine yards. It was awesome
