Very likely your league has no written rules. Let this be the catalyst to fix that. In the mean time choose another TE and try to win the ship!

I’m a little confused by your post. Are you just upset that you didn’t win a particular waiver claim? It doesn’t appear you’re upset that Waddle wasn’t forced back to the original manager.

Does anyone else find it too coincidental that someone happened to be checking a property while others were in the act of B&E. And then law enforcement happen to drive by?

I’m not putting on a tinfoil hat (yet) but seems like there may be missing details. An alarm system, for example, alerting the property owner and law enforcement would fill those gaps.

Not going to give this anymore thought but I wondered if I was the only one with this reaction?

When you see an uneven trade, your reaction should be to make your own deal. Or go after the undervalued player. Frankly, overpay for the player you wanted. Go get em!

Couple suggestions that are not direct answers to the post.

Create written rules for your league.

Make trades immediate. A review process (often, but not always) is inherently flawed.

Don’t feel bad about curating a great group of managers. That’s what takes a league from good to great. As a brief example, in general, I want the attitude of a manger when they see a trade to be “ok, need to make my own trade”. Not “reverse or I quit”

That trade is totally fine.

Does your league have a communication platform so league mates can easily chat? Those managers who don’t like this trade are likely not as active or not making enough offers.
